Won't be offered new contract apparently.

I don't like this decision to say the least.

I'm a huge fan of this decision. She's tested positive for steroids, there's evidence that steroids have bigger effects on females, and she's used that strength to inflict brain damage on her opponents. I've never watched any of her fights and I'll continue to boycott her fights.

One time, 8 years ago. You need to boycott half the sport with that standard.

Cos she's female? Being female - for all females, ever, with any dose - the benefit is so much greater than that offered to men - all men, ever, with any dose - that it makes their steroid use of a totally different nature?

Otherwise, as Jasen points out, you would have a massive boycott to carry.

For a lot of fighters it's not steroids they test positive for, but other things, like high testosterone.

I've boycotted Jon Jones since he popped positive against DC. I'm not sure there are others who headline cards that have popped recently. I feel differently about fighters from back in the day where it was more wild west rules. I guess you can call me a hypocrite for that if you want to, but I feel differently about watching a video of the 85 Bears beating up a QB than I feel about a defense in 2019 beating up a QB.

The ruthlessness of Jones' KO of DC and him crying afterwards and Cyborg KOing female fighters gives me a different emotional impact than Chael Sonnen getting a double leg on Anderson Silva and losing the fight. I guess you can call me a hypocrite for that as well.

Can someone clarify for me how much more serious it is when a woman roids or do I need to listen to an episode of JRE to get the full science behind it?

Ain't nothing more educating than 2-3 hours of bro science between Rogan/Schaub/Callen/Bravo.

If he can make the cut & retain all of his effectiveness/talent etc. it should be a good change for him, imo.

Should be interesting, just worried the cut is gonna be heavy on him.

I think he should lace em up unless he needs the dough.

He’s had as good of a career you can have for anyone outside GOAT discussion and just a great champ in general.

Seems like grasping at straws. He was worse at 145 than 155. So following the trend at 135 he'll be mid-tier. At 125 he'd be CM Punk.

I'd rather see him retire. He's had a HOF career, taken a lot of damage and I don't think he has anything left to prove to anyone (aside from himself).

I'd hate to see him go the way some of these other HOF'ers go from being competitive to seeing a rapid decline and going through losing streaks to journeymen

I think it's just that he's got old and others have gotten better. If he had dropped after his second Aldo loss maybe he could have made some noise, just not seeing it now.

I think Frankie benefitted more from being smaller, using heavy cardio, timing, quickness, etc to work guys. I don’t think cutting weight at an advanced age will help him as much as it helps some guys.

I can't believe the UFC is giving de Randamie another title shot after what she pulled last time. Guessing they are really banking on Nunes to win.

Wish is granted: Askren vs Maia, Oct 26th, in Singapore.

Askren re-orienting his career, I think this signifies. This is a vanity fight or a specialist fight or whatever. Not one you would take if you any longer had visions of a title run.

Maia should just stand with him, I feel. His MT is not so bad.

I feel this was our first sign of the re-orienting that you speak of:

“...I try not to think about the fact that I f*cked up my life’s dream,” Askren said. “I mean, think about this, for nine years I’m trying to prove I’m the best fighter in the world. I am so close to doing that, so close, and I let stupid Jorge Masvidal knee me in the head. I haven’t been knocked down in 19 fights.

“I didn’t get knocked down one time. And then I let this idiot knee me in the head and get knocked out. And now I don’t get to chase the dream that I had, I mean everything was working out so perfectly. I have accepted the fact that I blew it, but I try not to dwell on that fact. I try to move on. The rest of my life is great. Everything is going well.”

Report: B.J. Penn involved in multiple bar fights in one night

Apparently knocked out on video in one after daring a guy to hit him.

So BJ went from getting beat up in the octagon, to beating up his girlfriend, to getting beat up on the streets, and he now has a restraining order against him so he can't see his kids. Great 2019 for him...
