So many MMA fighters are scum. It's just reality.

I've sadly come to realize this lately as well. Look at the shenanigans of the recent champs - Khabib, Conor, Jones, Colby, etc. Even many who aren't overtly scum you wouldn't to accidentally bump into outside a bar, i.e.: Bisping and Ferguson.

It's understandable no shortage of that personality would gravity to fighting in a cage, which is the right place for them if they're going to be outside one long-term. Unfortunately their presence in the sport makes them largely unaccountable and you can root against them but they seldom seem to lose. I think the amount of money they can make these days complicates matters, even if they're still not receiving their fair share.

We should get the fatty who flatlined BJ into the UFC, Sean Gannon style.

It was a nice combo. I consider him as being the rightful victor. He showed BJ mercy by not following up after he was down or was kept away from bystanders. Then BJ didn't show honor when he came back and got a 2nd chance, subsequent to which his friends literally kicked a man when he was down. That may have been the worst part of it to me. I don't know what led up to the fight to know if BJ was initially warranted.

Yeah, that was pretty fluid. He actually seemed to have a deliberate open hand technique.

Hawaii is surely the best street fighting state in the union? Don't forget BJ, in true Gracie scumbag tradition, was street fighting long before the UFC.

Isn't BJ in camp for Lentz? I think the UFC cancels that, Lentz is out an easy W.

Not saying its an excuse but these guys all probably have some level of cte. Alot of people were making fun of Stipe after his post fight interview for the way he spoke. I think its a result of getting hit in the head so much.

I think that is the case for some. But guys like BJ, Masvidal, Fili, etc were fighting in the streets long before they started fighting MMA (and presumably before CTE). Some guys just don't stop once they become professional fighters. And I think when their careers derail and the money stops flowing as much, the scumminess is amplified.

It actually sounds like the UFC may have just fd up the un f'ble situation. It was so easy, Colby vs Kamaru and Diaz vs Jorge, there was your main and co main event of UFC 244. Yet now it sounds like the Colby vs Kamaru thing is dead and Kamaru doesn't want to fight Jorge and Jorge now says he would rather fight Diaz instead of Kamaru. Seriously how the hell do they screw this up? Watch next they screw up with the LW division and give Conor a rematch with Khabib before they give Tony the shot.

What’s the issue on the Usman Colby fight?
Is it on Colby or Usmans end?
If it’s Usman you strip him and tell him to F himself, he’s a clown and you can’t try to dictate things with 0 title defences. He won’t fight 4 of the top 5 guys, gtfoh.

If it’s Colby and wanting more money...dear god. Just cut him and move on and let him go to Bellator, he’s not drawing people in anyways and he’s less a talent than Rory or Bader, or Mouse or Alveraz, so who cares

Usman vs Colby
Masidival vs Nate
Askren vs Maia

Those are three near perfect fights. Of course two of the three needed to be messed up

Diaz/Masvidal is official.

No idea what they're doing with the belt but at least we're getting Askren/Maia and Diaz/Masvidal.

I'll laugh my ass off if Colby and Kamaru finally agree to terms to fight, then get put as the Co Main behind Diaz/Masvidal.

My guess is Colby/Kamaru get a deal done to fight once both realize how much fans are happy to see this Diaz/Masvidal fight. They will want the attention back on them. With that said, as long as that fight gets booked I'm happy with how this has played out then, since it's fantastic we get Diaz/Masvidal as a 5 rounder. That has epic fight written all over it.

good point about 5 rds. it would have to be on a card without a title, in that case, though. so Usman-Colby would eff that over.

I'm not through in yet, but two quick notes listening to Ariel's show this week.

They need to get the Usman/Colby fight done already. And both those two just need to sign to fight. Apparently the problem lies on BOTH sides, and also the problem with setting up Masvidal/Usman was Usman. I'm actually happy about that though...would want to see Masvidal fight Leon, Diaz, Colby all before Usman and in that order.

Also, I remember there as a lot of debate here and elsewhere about the Cain/Ngannou fight back when that happened. Ariel asked Cain about that fight and Cain confirmed Ngannou KOed him standing when he shot on him. He said he was out on his feet, then his knee gave out and the pain of that is what woke him up, then he was getting hit again. Then he went on some weird tirade about how Ngannou doesn't have control because he should never have even been throwing the punch that KTFO him because Cain was already too deep in the shot. lol.

Maybe but that wouldn't be the cause of this. The cause here would be ego lol. It's like when you are about to tap out a higher rank guy and he starts to coach you through the submission just to take something away from it.

I'm sure there are equivalents in every combat sport.
