Re: Non-threadworthy UFC Events Thread
You guys are nuts IMO. Assuming he doesn't get maimed in there, this is the right move for him. If he wins, he wins the trilogy and retires as HW champion and is still in the GOAT conversation. As of now, he was shut out of that conversation and is going out on a loss.
The ideal situation is that he stuck to what he said for years and retired as HW champion when he turned 40. But, it didn't happen. So beat Stipe and ride off into the sunset with the only unavenged loss on his record being Jon Jones.*****
I believe in DC!

I'm afraid D.C. is too old, but he could have enough left for one fight if he goes wrestle heavy.
I actually thought DC gave way too much away in his conversation with Ariel this week. He was talking about how the first of the fight was going exactly the gameplan, and he started taking risks and he never does that. He was talking about how Khabib stuck to the gameplan perfectly and he strayed from it and lost because of it (i.e., wrestling). He also talked about how he is flying in a wrestling coach to specifically oversee his wrestling for this camp.
He's going to wrestle the f*ck out of Stipe and I'm going to love every second of it.

I certainly hope so.
And I get that this single fight gets him right back in the GOAT talk. So that's probably too good to pass up. But, man, he's got kids and this would be a third KO in less than 3 years.
Give up the fire, everyone respects you other than Nemesis who thinks you're a club fighter at best but what are you going to do.

I really dislike Jorge cos of the "God's plan" talk and thinking he is (via God?) delivering justice. And the culture warrior stuff. But you have to respect that he is living his best life and having a blast with his current fame.

That last KO wasn't really that bad, it was just him eating body shots, being hurt from that and being too gassed to take those head shots.

After being a fan for a decade, I've kind of soured on him due to some of his recent actions.
That said, the dude has so much charisma. For example, think of all the sh*t Colby does for attention, everything from the Trump stuff to hiring pornstars to sh*tting on his own teammates. Then Ariel asks Jorge about Colby in an interview and Jorge said something along the lines of " in real life that dude is sensitive, he cries when he reads comics" which was 70 times more hilarious than anything Colby has said in years.

Are you referring to Cormier here?

Sad that Roundtree got messed up. He was real compelling on Rogan. And that opponent was a real douche. But what a wild fight.
Impressive win from Burns. That was more lopsided than a 29-28 would lead you to believe. Deep subs, a flying knee, some hard throws, and general dominance.

Damn, Canonier with the 2nd classiest post-fight of the month (Poirier #1). What a decent, honourable dude.

I hate Cowboy Oliveira, but watching some fat f*ck ref stand him up from top when he was working plenty was almost enough to make me root for him.

Rountree would be better off training MMA instead of focusing on just Muay Thai IMO. Has never put it all together as far as I've seen

Re: Non-threadworthy UFC Events Thread
Two quick thoughts...
1) sad day when a UFC ppv is relegated to a not threadworthy event.
2) happy Tai Tuivasa isn't going to become a thing. It's bad enough to be a fat f*ck pretending to be a pro athlete, but to be a fat f*ck who tries to throw punches from bottom mount is literally UFC 1 level stuff. Embarrassing. Cut him.

We're just lazy with threads. Which is why I made this one in the first place. The card is certainly not deep but the main event alone would make it threadworty, if anyone bothered.

You must've really hated Jason 'Mayhem' Miller back in the day.

One of my most hated people in the sport. Dude was a complete joke.
Izzy's head movement is crazy good. Whittaker needed to try and switch it up and try and take Izzy down. You cant just keep firing in like that over and over again against a striker like Izzy.

Yeah but he had some of the best entrances in pride.
UFC should let more fighters show their personality instead of having them be Reebok models all the time.
On your other point, I agree. I imagine the Costa fight will go the same way, try rushing izzy hoping to hit him with a hard shot.
