That is just generic pay respect to other sports. Sports people all the time talk how player X could play in their sport. When in reality they would get their asses kicked. Sure Zion could best McGregor if Zion trained few years exclusively for the fight. But otherwise I give him 15s before he is in submission or knocked out.

I know a person mentioned Zion kicking. Lol cmon guys that is literally the worst move you can come up with for Zion. If Zions head/body is in striking distance (Elite striker/counter puncher) vs an athletic marvel with no experience in range or in close let alone defensive techniques he’d getting picked apart, knocked out cold, or have a broken knee, broken jaw, broken ribs etc etc.

I think Myles Garrett would probably destroy almost everyone in the UFC and this is coming from a longtime MMA fan. If Greg Hardy can be an ok UFC heavyweight imagine what this beast could do. I think only the top 5 UFC HWs would be able to beat this dude in a fight.

This dude couldn't even score 5 points in the NBA let alone fight. He would be out of breath after 2 minutes of NBA basketball because he can't have his 1 Min rest after 10s of play.

Being a fan doesn't make one expert at sport. For proof just look no further than your own post. It's like saying some body builder would destroy NBA because he is strong... Fighting or NBA is more than being a strong guy...

Being a freak athlete can be an advantage in fighting, Hershel Walker was rocking fools into his mid-late 50's in MMA, went undefeated.

Lol.. Herschel had 2 fights, and they were against absolute tomato cans in some backwoods org.

With all due respect, you have no idea what you're talking about. I've seen collegiate athletes get subbed by scrawny guys who work in office jobs. It happens all the time. Go to your local MMA gym and pick out the smallest guy there. Let me know how that goes for you.

Thats like saying your average person could beat up Demetrius Johnson or Figueredo because they outweigh them by 40-50 lbs. It ain't happening.

We're not talking about the average person here or a random Realgm user or a 50 pound size difference. But Zion who might be one of the strongest humans at his size in the world and who is 8 inches taller and 100 pounds heavier than Conor. And it's not like Conor is some sort of Bjj god. I don't think Conor has any chance on the ground, even as a brown belt. The size and strength difference is just too big to overcome.
Conor's way to winning is just being quick on his feet, waiting for Zion to make a move, evade and counter punch him.

Be realistic... None of NBA players are even remotely close to the strongest humans for their size. Any average
hobbyist strongman gym guy (heck even average lifter guy) is stronger than these guys. Basketball weight training isn't for strength like that.

imanari roll would be probably top 5 dumbest things you can do in an altercation where soccer kicks are fair game. For Conor to have a chance, he'd have to stay outside Zion's range or shoot for a takedown and transition to a sub.

Maybe against another trained fighter. Zion ain't gonna be firing off a soccer kick when he has no idea what's happening. That requires instinct that only comes from being in fights. Most likely he freezes and locks his legs just like everyone else when someone dives at his ankle.

Regardless, after the first few exchanges swinging at air, Zion will be gassed and ripe for whatever Conor wants to do to him.

When someone is on the floor in a brawl, usually the first instinct is to stomp or soccer kick. Trained or untrained. Going for an imanari, in an alleyway, is absolutely idiotic, especially when you're already giving up 100lbs. For every Ryan Hall or Imanari there is probably 20-50 whitebelts who got flattened out and smashed trying to pull that ish.

Conor would win against a completely untrained Zion (right now). If Zion spent a couple of months learning basic wrestling takedowns and defense however, he would easily smash Conor.

Greg Hardy is basically a smaller Zion and he's doing great for someone that just picked up the sport (MMA).

Conor runs circles around an untrained Zion but give Zion like 4-5 months with someone like Firas, Wittman, Parillo, Mike Brown, etc and that'd be enough. Honestly if he just had basic striking & wrestling defense, 2 or 3 good leg kicks from Zion probably ruins Conor. Like if Zion knew how to throw a proper low leg kick it's game over.

McGregor would win obviously. Weight brackets matter, but that's only when it's between experienced fighters. Thought it's true for any situation that a person is gonna do better in their given sport than the other, which in this case is fighting.

To put this into perspective, this would be equivalent to someone posting a Ryan Hollins video to back up a basketball point...

Yeah no.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

McGregor is a professional fighter.

We have no clue if Zion is skilled in fighting.

At some point sheer size, weight and strength renders skill obsolete though. I think Zion falls into that category. That's just too much weight and strength moving around.

Could be wrong but I don't see McGregor making it out alive. lol

It does but you’d be surprised at how much skill can do. I was in wrestling for 30 years and you learn how to handle people are much bigger than you. If you add in mma rules it becomes a bit easier as wrestling doesn’t allow for striking kicking or submission some might argue the guillotine is a submission move)

Give Zion 2-3 years with elite world class training (who knows if he’s actually cut out for it)

Mgregor would be 35 and Zion would be 23. Even money in a cage. But anything before then it’s a procession.

Yeah no.

Sorry to break it to you but 100lbs and even superior athleticism on a 6'7 frame plays a role.

not even remotely comparable. Lol. The size discrepancy alone is similar to a fully grown adult to a child.

If Zion learned basic take down defense and entries or got to a blue belt in a BJJ school that has a solid stand up curriculum, he would wreck Conor.

So does massively superior skill.

I seriously doubt whether or not you've ever been in a physical altercation in your life. Martial arts and combat sports in general heavily favor the larger, more athletic individual. There are examples of this in grappling and striking specific federations. People want to fantasize about Bruce Lee types being able to take on goliaths, but reality is much different.
