really lame card

there's only one cool match (matches involve TWO fighters), the Aoki-Crusher fight. but - Christ - I don't want to see Aoki lose to Crusher. it could be a really sad night if Manhoef and Kawajiri both get brutal TKOs. the guy Manhoef is facing is one of those Pride-era cans they would give Cro Cop and Wanderlei...some poor pro wrestler with too much courage for his own good.

if you remember, Kawajiri has always been a prick to Aoki. he refused to shake his hand after being in Ishida's corner for Ishida's fight with Shinya. he stared him down and tried to intimidate him. he's a meathead and a bully.

Dream consistently only puts one 'name' fighter in every fight, rarely putting them head-to-head.

Jake O'Brien. The name is familiar but I can't place him.

I think JZ vs. Kikuno is pretty cool, but yeah, most of the card is typical Japan squash matches.

I hope Crusher runs over Aoki...I think. I can never decide whether I love Aoki or hate him.

Noticed that Ishida is moving down to FW. That's badass. He should do well there.

Is the Dream LHW tournament really a 4 man deal featuring Manhoef (185), Mizuno, Mousasi, and O'Brien? LOL. Why bother?

Yep, just 4 men. They're trying entitle somebody, having never had a LHW champ.

Manhoef vs Mousasi in the final would be awesome.

Yeah, I'd like to see that. Really the only interesting option.

Do you know if the final will be on the same night, or on an upcoming card?

September something is the final. I think that's Dream 16.

Fighting the same night and fighting Manhoef in the first round...even if you win, you're not making it to the second with your body intact. He's a one man counter-argument to single day tourneys.

Yikes, lmfao at O'Brien coming in at 226 pounds.

IDK why, but it pisses me off when fighters miss weight, especially that much so. Hell, it even made me root for Nick Diaz in his last fight because his opponent missed weight by so much.

War Mousasi.

Flipping Kawajiri refusing to bow to Shinya. What an ass.

How can you bully a dude wearing 'jammies?

Aoki is just a wizard on the ground. Good to see Gegard win, I'm a fan. Manhoef...

IIRC it was because the opponent refused to tap, so Aoki proceeded to break his arm (I think it was his arm?) and flip him off.. I can't remember if there was trash talk involved prior

There was, except I think it was actually Aoki doing the talking. He was talking about how he didn't know who Hirota was, and just being generally disrespectful.

Don't remember what Hirota had to say in response.

So, anyone watch this event?

SHINYA!!! That was awesome. Crusher landed a heel kick while on the ground (a nasty one), but other than that - nothing. Shinya can beat anyone under 170 on any given day. Aoki vs GSP. Book it.

The guy who beat Manhoef was just as impressive, if not more. He almsot pounded him out, before landing a great sub amidst all sorts of frantic action. Very nice.

Kikuno's front-kicks were crazy. I've been hit my karate dudes' front kicks who have a 10th the pedigree that Kikuno has, and they are murder. But he was otherwise too passive. Without swing kicks or punching power, there's no way he could beat someone as good as JZ.

JZ vs Aoki III...next?

Aoki vs Melendez II in Japan on Sept 25th, said Aoki when given the mic.

Watching the replay, that ankle was ****ed. It bent at a crazy ankle. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy?
