Mayweather vs Pacquiao - racist rant

Post#1 » by EZ » Fri Sep 3, 2010 3:41 pm

Wow...

I thought Mayweather was smarter than that! But again, people and boxing need the drama!

In the video, which Mayweather Jr. uploaded via USTREAM on On Sept. 2, several times he refers to Pacquiao as a "midget" and said that once he beats him he will force him to "make some sushi rolls and cook some rice."

He also added "we're going to cook him with some cats and dogs."

Here's the vid. Leave it to youtube and twitter to make yourself look stupid and small.

Leave it to a Mayweather to criticize someone's command of the English language. Seriously though, how does this guy still have fans?

Not this kind of drama. Going racial in a bloodsport will just make everyone think of the sport as a relic of stupider times....and of course kill any shot Mayweather has of crossing over as a star beyond boxing.

On the plus, Mayweather is really helping Pacquiao become an icon. If the two meet while still in their primes, and Pacquiao beats him, skies the limit for Manny.

Unfortunately, if they meat and Mayweather wins, that will just hurt boxing more. Finally an undisputed great boxer, and he's far less likable that Tyson, a convicted rapist.

I think the last few years he had just embraced the heel role... most educated boxing fans are critical of him because he has never really tested himself after the JLC fight at lightweight.

He can have all the money in the world, but he still wants to be embraced by the boxing community in my mind. He will never be adored like Duran, Leonard, Chavez, Arguello, heck... even DeLaHoya who never won over with Mexican fans.

Why try to be loved, when it is easier and more profitable to be hated?

No one's more graceful in the ring. I re-watch his fights all the time. More than any other boxer.

While I am a Mayweather fan, his comments were completely out of line and unnecessary. If he was doing this to further hype the future match, then it makes this even more stupid since a fight between the two wouldn't happen until at least spring of next year.

i just hope that pacquiao harnesses this and uses it in the ring. there is nothing i would like better in the sport of boxing to see mayweather busted up and beat down. personally i think manny can do it and i know he thinks he can too.
