Yea, has to be some outside of the cage issues.

Apparently it might be because Duffee is set to start shooting his scenes in the movie Never Back Down II next month (the same month he was supposed to fight Jon Madsen before pulling out with a lingering knee injury). Not sure if it's just a coincidence that the shooting starts on the same month as his fight was supposed scheduled or if he purposely backed out of the fight to be in the movie. If it's the former then it's a shame he got cut but if it's the latter, I can see the justification.

Wow. The ceiling on Duffee is very low, I'd guess, but they could have made some money off of him. HWs are real valuable.
There may not be too much worry of having other orgs capitalize on him. He's surely a one-trick pony.

Surprising.
I would have thought they would keep him, and just keep him on the shelf, if anything.
A guy that looks like that could become something of a draw for Strikeforce or another lesser organization if you give him some cans to smash. He also has some personality from the interviews I've heard.

This is very surprising. There must be some more info to come.

This has everything to do with Duffee faking an injury to go shoot a movie and nothing to do with his talent level. Duffee is one of the brightest young stars in the HW division, but you do not show up the UFC like that.

If there is one thing Dana seems to hate it's blowing off his company for Hollywood (see Rampage)

Where did you hear that it was a fake injury?

I've heard the same thing about him faking injury to go shoot the movie as well. It's really too bad because although he's still pretty raw, he's been training with some of the top camps in the world over the last few years and his future looked extremely bright.

I thought this was a bit premature, but maybe something else will come out over it, he was so built up that I can't see him being cut just because he lost 1 fight.

Come on Strikeforce. There ain't no shame in acquiring talented UFC castoffs when your divisions outside of Heavyweight and Middleweight are so thin. Bring in Todd Duffee, Keith Jardine and Paul Daley now darn it.

Something about this guy always irked me and I was kind of happy to see him get knocked out in his last UFC fight.
He was in position to be jerking the UFC around and he'll regret it. Dear Todd, the only reason a casting director spotted you was because of UFC's exposure.

If he gets a couple wins under his belt then he'll be back. If Dana has brought back Tito and Rampage for what seems to be far worse, then I would imagine Duffee will be back in due time.

Tito and Rampage are proven moneymakers for the UFC. Dana will forgive anyone if it means he makes more money. Duffee on the other hand, makes Dana no money.

Does anyone else who owns undisputed 2010 like to play as duffee, sprint across the ring, and throw a power punch? I know I do.

Dean of Mean is done, he just lost his 5th fight in a row to Prangley on a Shark Fights card .

So after a week or so, still no one knows exactly why Duffee was cut. Duffee's manager was on MMA Hour with Ariel and he was practically defending the UFC's decision.. Was very odd to hear, I guess Todd must have really screwed up with something behind the scenes.. Something beyond some of the things that have been floating around the net.
