I do these lists of up and coming fighters to keep an eye on about twice a year, and people seemed to like the last one, so I did another. In the short history of these lists, many stars have emerged. Former alumni of this list include Matt Mitrione, Cole Konrad, Chad Mendes, Brendan Schaub, John Hathaway, George Sotiropoulos, Muhammed Lawal, Shane Carwin, Nate Diaz, Joseph Benavidez, Cain Velasquez, Gray Maynard, Ben Askren and Ryan Bader. Not too shabby.

Are you talking about Javier Vasquez in the WEC? He has been on the scene long enough that I'm not sure he qualifies for a list like this.

He is a stud though.

Clearly Roger Gracie is a huge name in BJJ, but few people keep up with BJJ. Daniel Cormier on this list is a huge name in collegiate wrestling, but I am guessing few know him from that either.

Most MMA fans could not name 5 wrestlers or BJJ practitioners, until they become MMA stars as well.

McCorkle caught Hunt with a nice sub from his back, he looked shaky on his feet though. It was just announced that he's facing Struve for his next fight, step up for sure so we'll see how he does.. For those who don't know he's a frequent poster on the UG (which is atrocious now).

No Chad Mendes, Rory MacDonald ?

I don't have nearly as deep a knowledge of MMA prospects as you seem to, so I don't mean any offense or that I could do better, but I'm not sure where you get off bragging about how many stars have emerged from these lists.

Seems like a clear case of throwing **** at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Both guys were on previous lists. Both guys are studs.

I wouldn't call it bragging, it is definately a case of throwing good prospects and a wall and seeing which become great. Pointing out the great fighters previous lists is just menat to show that there is some merit to this one, not a way for me to stroke my ego.

I don't post most of my MMA blog stuff, but the last list like this caused a pretty solid thread.

UFC working on Charles Oliveira vs Jim Miller, would be on 124 card( GSP vs Kos ). Also Florian vs Dunham slated to be on Super Bowl weekend card(126) . Also potentially on 126 card champ Edgar vs challenger Maynard.
