Can we see Manny vs. Floyd now?

Post#1 » by Elway=GOAT » Sun Nov 14, 2010 5:48 am

Can we please see Manny vs. Floyd now? Its a joke these guys havent gotten in the ring yet. Im so tired of the Floyds camp posturing. Its old, they are clearly the 2 best, and if we wait any longer Manny wont be the same. He is already out of his prime from a couple years ago imo. This needs to happen by the summer.

This totally spoils the fight. People could have been watching the UFC, who knows.

Historians and Analysts would most likely place a imaginary 1 loss there anyway for being a wuss, if they dont make this fight a REALITY by next year
Y'all are just mad because y'all don't got swagger like Lebron has. It is a scientific fact that Bron's swagger has the power to transform an otherwise level-headed adult male into a jealous woman.

Mayweather is afraid to lose... I think everyone knows this.

I mean in the grand scheme of things, no one cares if you lose. It matters if you fight the best. I don't see anyone knocking Ali for losing to Frazier, or Ken Norton. People acknowledge him as one of the best because he fought everyone.

I mean does anyone care that Manny lost to Erik Morales... no. They respect him because he was willing to fight the best at the time.

When this happens, expect Gayweather to rush to the media and challenge Manny anytime, anywhere...

It's from The Examiner, but nevertheless, a good article.

On the Ropes Boxing Radio - 100th episode transcript
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=25800&more=1

JENNA: Let’s say that Pacquiao does finally agree to everything that your son wants testing-wise. Do you think you’d be more apt to want to see that fight happen if Pacquiao does that?

MAYWEATHER: I would agree to that fight if they had people from Little Floyd’s Camp in Pacquiao’s Camp for random, any time they desired, to check him out. Check him out. Give him a thorough check every time you go. Pacquiao has the same choice to do that with my son and there ain’t no doubts, no questions in my mind that the fight would take place tomorrow.

JENNA: Well we’re definitely looking forward to seeing you back out there Floyd, but I have just a couple of more questions before we let you off the line. There have been a lot of questions about your son’s future and who he’s going to fight next. You said you don’t want to see him fight Pacquiao if Pacquiao doesn’t take the test—

MAYWEATHER: No! No, no, no. What I’m saying is, my thing is know where he could—even though my son is not a big, my son is a good puncher but he’s not a big puncher. He’s not a, I mean he’s got a good knockout record himself. He ain’t no great, great puncher but he’s a good puncher and he’s got speed, and he’s got smarts, and he’s slick, and he’s clever, and he’s smooth—something that Pacquiao does not have. All those things I just named, Pacquiao ain’t got. He got the power, but hey! When do they say where did he get it from? Now all of a sudden he’s got all this power? Something is just not right. I know the world knows what’s happening. The ones who want to be true to the game and face up to the facts, then they know. Whatever it is, I don’t know what it is. Is it some kind of spiritual kind of power that he’s got? I don’t know where he got it from but hey, more power to him. That’s all I could tell you.

JENNA: Alright, well Floyd I have one final question for you. Pacquiao is turning 32. Your son is 33 now. Where do you think the sport of boxing will be when both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Junior retire?

MAYWEATHER: Well you know I’ll be honest with you. The game is not looking up at all and I would advise my son, if he chooses not to fight anymore he’s got enough money to live the rest of his life. Leave the game alone. It ain’t worth it. You already proved yourself. He’s a Hall of Famer. There ain’t nothing left boxing can do for you, anyway. So it’s about money. If you take a chance with your life for money, hey! Look, it’s only you at the end of the day. You don’t have to take chances like that.

I'm sorry, these are just gold.

As a Mayweather fan, I am really disappointed this fight won't happen . Also disappointed at Mayweather for this and his recent legal troubles . :nonono:

Can someone educate me as to how a blood test immediately after a fight is any different from a blood test done 1 or 2 days before a fight? Wouldn't a blood test on the day of be more accurate than anything else?

And if Floyd really does have a good punch, speed, smarts, slickness, cleverness, and smoothness -- and he does have all of the above -- and Pacquiao only has power, what is Floyd and his camp afraid of? Theoretically, he should be able to dance around Pacquiao and jab him to victory, no? Easy $40 million payday right there.

I really want to see this fight, but it's clear it's not happening. And even if Pacquiao agrees to random Olympics-style testing, Floyd will use his slicks, smarts, cleverness, and smoothness to worm his way out of the fight again.

You'll have stopped the steroid cycle weeks before the fight. It's a matter of catching high hormone levels in the athlete's system before the testosterone spike's undetectable.

An athlete is not looking to be on steroids the day of the competition. It helps recovery during the strength and conditioning in prep for that competition. The athlete might still be on a post-cycle regimen of testosterone boosters and estrogen blockers in order to return their natural testestosterone, but they won't still be taking synthetics.

There's no question that testing after the fight might well miss catching steroid use, is the point. There needs to be testing in the weeks leading up to the fight.

This should happen, should have already happen. It's more on Mayweather. He is beating around the bush on this one.

Father & Son Mayweather's are a bunch of arrogant clowns. All they do is trash talk here and there.

I can't imagine why reporters would even bother interviewing them...

$100 million? If it's true this is Mayweather's asking price, I agree with Rafael. He simply does not want the fight

If Mayweather's not announced as Paquiao's next opponent after Mosley, I will finally give up all hope this fight will ever happen. What a huge dissapointment for the sport of boxing...just sad this thing can't happen
