Dec 11 - EPIC day for Combat Sports

Post#1 » by singh_shady » Mon Nov 29, 2010 3:34 am

December 11th, 2010:

UFC 124 - St. Pierre vs. Koscheck - Self explanatory, one of the most anticipated MMA fights of the year.

K-1 World GP 2010 Finals - Personally, my favourite event of the year. Great final 8 this year as well. Way too drawn out to watch live but I will be PVRing for sure.

Amir Khan vs. Marcos Maidana - I'm a Boxing noob but I heard this was a big fight.

Only crappy thing is that this is right in the middle of finals :( I'm pretty sure I have one the next day actually..

lol. That's what i was thinking too but i guess it is possible. I'm a boxing newb as well (kinda) and being South Asian I'm definitely going to watch khan box. I watched his fight with malignaggi(?) and he looked good but from what I know khan has a suspect chin and malig wasn't the right fighter to chest is chin.

I'm clearing any and all of anything to watch our George beat the every living **** out of Koschek.

The Montreal fans will spook him and he'll get subbed.

Time for some soap in the mouth you arrogant ass.

Can't wait for it , Kos is going to take GSP's belt and Khan will win his boxing match .

Also the night of Dec. 4th will be a good night of fights, TUF 12 Finale also a StrikeForce card with Lawlor/Lindland , Daley/Smith , Babalu/Henderson

Awesome night for sure! I really hope Overeem takes it this year, then perhaps he can finally commit completely to MMA.

The Khan fight should be interesting. Khan is fast enough that he should stay outside and try to pick Maidana apart. But Maidana is a little awkward and has decent power which is scary with a guy like Khan who doesn't take a punch particularly well. If I had access to all of these options, I'd definitely watch this fight but since I never have live access to boxing anymore (I see most fights a couple of weeks later), I'll probably settle for watching St. Pierre and Koschek.

Decent power.... It is a massive understatement... Maidana has proven world class power. You don't get a 90% KO ratio by just having decent power.

There is also the showtime bantamweight tournament which I think has a better fights. Granted... they are skinny guys(118 lbs), but like Tyler Durden says.... Skinny guys fight till they are burger.

Yeah... and Montreal is one hell of a fight town. It will be packed for the UFC fight. Honestly... they have without question the best fight fans in world in my opinion.

Yup Semmy is still the favourite but Overeem and or Ghita/Saki definitely pose a legit threat. Daniel Ghita vs Gokhan Saki will be the match of the quarter-finals

The UFC will stage its first fight in Ontario on April 30 at the Rogers Centre, president Dana White said Tuesday morning. White told media at a press conference at the Air Canada Centre that he expects the UFC 131 event will be the most attended of all time.

Btw, quick heads up. K-1 is actually tomorrow for us. Its live at 11:00 pm (not sure if its east or west coast though).

http://www.sherdog.com/news/press%20releases/SCHILT-AND-OVEREEM-ON-A-COLLISION-COURSE-AT-K-1-WORLD-GP-2010-FINAL-LIVE-THIS-FRIDAY-NIGHT-ON-HDNET-28668

We should also split up the events and make separate threads, so we can avoid any spoilers.

Make sure to watch the Giorgio Petrosyan fight from the It's Showtime event. He's the greatest kickboxer in the world, bar none.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.
