This was popular last year, so I decided to do it again.

Should go with Fedor and his loss, but I'm going with UFC/WEC merger.

Fedor losing gets my vote...everyone knew that the UFC and WEC were gonna merger eventually, it was just a matter of time.

Really though, I was more interested in the UFC/WEC merger and the fallout from that. There's a lot more to talk about with that story, and it is has a much bigger impact on MMA.

Fedor losing isn't that big of a deal to me. If he had faced the level of competition similar to that of other top fighters, it very, very likely would have happened once or twice already.

Good point.

I mean, I can see the argument, since Fedor losing pretty much broke the internet, but for me, a big story should generate a ton of discussion and have a long term impact on the sport.

Fedor losing. I've never seen a bar full of people utterly speechless. I've never seen the non-MMA fans at a bar so confused as to why everyone looked so solemn. It's probably the defining moment of the year for me, period. Very weird night. I got even drunker than usual.
