His loss was overturned to a no contest following Thiago's drug test. Meh on this subject, Vera is 7-5 with 1 no contest in UFC.

Feed him to someone else and then let him hit the unemployment line again.

That's embarrassing. This is a technicality, I'm sure, the UFC can't cut his contract unless he gets an L. So they had to bring him back.

I think we just met Bader's next opponent.

IDK, I'm always under the impression that UFC has a "can cut anyone at anytime" policy.

You could be right, though.

My first thought was Vera is a guy that a lot of people know, plus now they can throw him and Tito on an undercard in a loser leave town match. :D

No, their usual contract says is has to be off of a loss. Or how is it a multi-fight contract at all, if it can be voided whenever?

That was an issue mentioned by Dana after the Silva vs Maia fight. He wanted to threaten Anderson but admitted he didn't have much leverage.

I think the multi-fight contract may be advantageous for the UFC, not for the fighter. You could be right, but it must vary by fighter, right?

e.g., didn't they cut jon fitch out of the blue for like a day? (asking because i don't know)

And I'm sure I remember the following come from Dana's mouth.

(paraphrasing) "If he ever acts like that again I'll cut him, I don't care."

about Silva.

Isn't Silva held due to a "Champion" clause in his contract?

So Silva can't leave, but UFC could strip him of the belt anytime I think.

I expect his return to be short-lived. I have no reason to even be positive about his future in the UFC, so he better prepare himself, because the UFC most likely won't be in his long-term plans.
