Strikeforce: Feijao vs Hendo

Post#1 » by REDDzone » Sat Mar 5, 2011 6:27 am

Went a page or two back and didn't see a thread, if I'm blind please lock or delete.

Who you guys got?

Cavalcante v Hendo
Coenen v Carmouche
Kennedy v Manhoef
Masvidal v Evangelista

I'm somewhat excited, do not know who wins the main event.

Manhoef is always fun to watch, Kennedy is a tough customer.

Excited to see Masvidal, true LW who IMO beat Daley in their fight a few months back. Granted I watched it once and it was on a somewhat bad internet connection, but a very close fight by all accounts. Scrappy kid.

Some decent betting possibilities here IMO. Feijao is +150, so if you like him to win that's a good bet. Rough to be the dog as the champ. On the flip side if you think Hendo destroys him like he did Sobral, Hendo is -180.

Masvidal/Evangelista = pretty even odds if you feel one has an advantage either way.

Kennedy/Manhoef = surprised to see Kennedy such a huge favorite (-300). I think these odds are a little too favorable to Kennedy personally.

My book seems to have weird odds regarding mma though.

I don't think putting Kennedy such a huge favorite over Manhoef is such a surprise. Manhoef is fairly one dimensional. If he had Chuck Liddell or Mirko Cro Cop level take down defense than that is a different story. But he doesn't. I think if Kennedy is smart he takes Manhoef down immediately. This only is a tough fight for Kennedy if he tries to pull off an impersonation of Robbie Lawler.

Not available in Canada. Streams are everywhere though, the usual places.

I love watching Hendo fight. The way he constantly keeps that deadly right hand cocked backed gets me every time. Expect he will win against Cavalcante, but wouldn't be surprised for it to be a really good fight.

His TDD was pretty damn good (much improved at least) but once Kennedy finally got him on the ground he was utterly useless.

yeah i should have pointed that out as well. you would think if his tdd was that good then so would be his ground knowledge to some degree.

the punch just grazed him. I think that face plant is what shook feijao. Then henderson just threw bombs and one got him good

Manhoef really needs to work on his ground game. He was mounted so easily and so quickly.

Henderson had an alright fights but his knock down punch wasn't anything special. I think the mat did more damage to Cavalcante. Overall a good fight though.

Did anyone think at any point that the Coenen fight should have been stopped when she was mounted and doing nothing more then covering up?

I got Fedor, Anderson, Randy, Chuck, GSP, Sakuraba and Matt Hughes over him off the very top of my head (not necessarily in order).

If you are talking about the end of the 2nd, generally the ref takes into account the time left in the round.

So seeing as how little time there was when the other girl was REALLY opening up, he didn't stop it. That was my thought anyway.

Plus it was kind of validated when Coenen tapped the other chick a few minutes later.
