Great signing by Strikeforce. This is an interesting matchup and a good test for Cormier.

I'm confused, Zuffa owns them, but they are just going to keep operating Strikeforce like normal?

^^^ Yes and no. They are running Strikeforce as its own organization for now but they have fired all of Strikeforce's original staff except for Scott Coker and one other person and Coker was demoted. Coker is likely only there as a figurehead/go between for Zuffa and M-1.

I get ya. I was under the impression they were just going to fufill the SF contracts then just absorb/sign who they wanted to UFC.

I think that is the case but the UFC is letting them get guys they aren't sure they would want. I think they are giving guys like Monson and that guy from Sengoku a dry run in Strikeforce.
