Veteran lightweight and former Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor Hermes Franca has been arrested in Oregon on alleged charges of sexual abuse.
Franca, 36, previously resided in the state and operated Team Hermes Franca Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Clackamas, Ore. The fighter allegedly flew to Oregon on Monday from Florida, where he now resides, and turned himself in to Clackamas County Jail on seven counts of sexual abuse in the first degree and two counts of unlawful sexual penetration in the second degree.
http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Hermes ... rges-32476A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Rodriguez is accused of throwing the cab driver to the ground following a dispute over a $75 taxi fare. According to the report, police representatives stated it took three officers to control the 6-foot-4 fighter.
“It’s our policy to handcuff behind -- that did not occur. He was struggling with the officers, flailing his arms ...” Sgt. Steve Martos told Fox 10 Phoenix.
The real crime is a $75 cab fare, but I digress:
http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Report ... zona-32471The California State Athletic Commission voted 4-1 on Wednesday to uphold an indefinite suspension of middleweight Chael Sonnen. The decision effectively eliminates the possibility that Sonnen will be allowed to coach on the next season of “The Ultimate Fighter” opposite Michael Bisping, with Sonnen and his attorneys arguing prior to the ruling that it could signify the end of his MMA career.

I don't think it's as simple as rape. Those are some strange charges. It might involve a minor, maybe?

“Except as permitted under ORS 163.412 (Exceptions to unlawful sexual penetration prohibition), a person commits the crime of unlawful sexual penetration in the second degree if the person penetrates the vagina, anus or penis of another with any object other than the penis or mouth of the actor and the victim is under 14 years of age.”

http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/05/19/c ... -may-2012/So, he's out for a year, but as the article mentions, he can apply to fight elsewhere or overseas. I understand being wishy-washy on Barnett's licensing, but I think the UFC will go over the AC's head and have him fight overseas. People want to see him fight and I really don't care if he's a money laundering sociopath realtor. They all are.

Also: there needs to be a special charge for anyone who unlawfully "penetrates the penis of another". Like, "ultra-mega unlawful penetration".
