OT: The Man, the Myth, the LEGEND - FEDOR

Post#1 » by blowmyrooster » Tue Jul 19, 2011 11:44 pm

This guy is my freakin hero lols.

Him and Larry Bird.

This guy is a machine, yea so what he's a little past his prime whatevers.

He's fighting with Dan Henderson soon (July 30), in Strikeforce.

The guy's moving down to LHW, and I personally think he's gonna take a giant shyt all OVER the LHW division.

I'm guessing most of you are noobs to MMA, but please revel in the goldenness that is The Last Emperor, FEDOORRRRRR EMELIANENKO...!

Yes twice kiddo, but a few things about that lols:

1.) fluke bullshyt loss to Werdum. He got caught it happens. Trust me, normally he would've FUYCKED UP Febricio, but since his lil kid bro lost to him he got impatient, w/e's lols.

2.) That loss to Silva was bullshyt. For one, the guy outweighted him by atleast 50 lbs. And two, they stopped the fight. Who knows what woudl've happened.

But unlike some homers, I'll take it on the chin and accept it. That said, it's still freakin Fedor man. The guy was fuyckin undefeated for 10 YEARS!

Again, based off just reading twitter, do people downplay his success because he never fought in the UFC? If so, do you think it's justified?

If by moving down to LHW, you mean he's fighting a LHW (one who competed at MW for a good part of his career) at HW, then yes, he's moving down to LHW. Much like he moved down to MW to fight Matt Lindland.

As for this board not knowing who Fedor is, I personally have never heard of him, but he seems to be #1 on our list of Greatest MMA fighters ever.

Umm no, smartass:

First, it's a catchweight - they're fighting at 220. And Lindland went up to like 215-220 for that fight and FEdor crushed him genius.

Btw your sarcasm is sad and patetic, instead of just adding in your non-bullshyt .02$ in you had to act like a "kid" like the other two gurls in here. "lols" sad.

A catchweight is not LHW.

Lindland did not go up to 215-220. He weighed-in at 96.5KG,,,212.5. As a wrestler, you leverage weight. A foreign 30 pounds of fat is not the same as if you legitimately weighed 212.5.

The fight lasted a few minutes, there was zero damage to either fighter, Lindland had Fedor in a full body-lock and had him elevated when Fedor grabbed the rope to stop the throw. "Crushed"?

You're just lying.

Oh excuse me sir, lols, you're right. Technically they're BOTH HW's. And btw sweety, Henderson has fought at HW before.

Bwhahah lols. Are you serioud kiddo? First off Fedor never freakin grabbed the ropes genius not even close lols. Watch the tape kid. Second, Fedor reverse a greco-roman olympian and judo threw his fat bald out of shape ass to the canvas, even after sustaining a nasty gash to the head (inadvertant cut).

While he's bleeding all over the mat and trying to finish the fycking fight b4 a ref stoppage, he almost gets Matt in a knee bar, then arm bars him while on his side, are yous serious dude?

They agreed upon 220.

What about that do you not understand.

Plz wiki "catchweight" and educated your foolish self thank you.

While the loss to Werdum was a fluke the loss to Silva wasn't. Silva was too big, too strong and too well rounded. Sure the fight was stopped (I was there and I wanted it to continue as well) but Fedor got beat up a lot in that second round. Silva looked tired but if he just took Fedor down again what could a tired and beat up Fedor with one working eye do to get out of it that a fresher Fedor with two working eyes couldn't.

There's so much I disagree with in this thread it's insane.

No one who is a fan of MMA downplays Fedor, as of now he's the greatest HW of all time probably the GOAT fighter. The complaint about him was that he took EXTREMELY underwhelming competition for half a decade (his most dangerous opponents were guys the UFC threw out and it's HW division was a joke until recently). Regardless of that, Fedor is a legend.

Fedor vs Silva wasn't BS. They fought at HW...if you're complaining about the weight difference there then the Lindland fight was a joke and this Hendo fight is BS as well.

Against Werdum it's true, he just got caught, but I also think it was age. A younger Fedor doesn't get caught like that. He was INCREDIBLE with the grappling game and he'd never get locked up in a triangle.

Anyway, Fedor in his prime was one of, if not THE greatest. He was incredible to watch and it's really too bad he never fought in UFC so that more American fans could fully appreciate his dominance. The mythical unbeatable Fedor though was always a bit of an exaggeration, his ND vs Big Nog (the second fight I believe) was looking like an L (no shame losing to Noguiera). I would LOVE to watch Fedor in his prime handle the new breed of heavyweights who are enormous and imposing. Picture Fedor vs Carwin's KO power, Junior Dos Santos' striking ability, Cain's all-around ability and world class wrestling or Brock's strength, agility and wrestling...All of those match-ups would be incredible to watch.

LOL at tapping a guy with a triangle being a fluke.

Hendo KOing Bisping was a fluke, imho.

Its a fluke in the way that it wouldn't happen again. Anyone who had any illusions that Werdum had a chance against Fedor in the rematch had to realize the truth when they say that horrible performance he had against Overeem.
