Last fight on Page's deal, and then he will leave UFC. (Or so he says.....)

I have Shogun all day in this one.

I think that Shogun will destroy Rampage. Rampage talked about how motivated he would be for a fight in Japan, and then he comes in overweight and loses to Ryan Bader. Now he says that he wants out of the UFC so he can "do his thang"...

Compare that to Shogun who loses his title, and then looks much better in his next fight, destroying Griffin in the first round. After that he goes to war with Henderson, and after taking a massive beating for the first 3.5 rounds, he dominates the rest of the fight. Shogun just wants it more...and even if he didn't, I'd still pick Shogun.

All true, assuming that Henderson fight didn't do permanent damage to Shogun. The amount of punishment looked like it could end a career - punchiness, reflex loss, etc.

Rampage is definitely gone. He's become a huge bitch. J'oe Silva should be slapped - it's unfair that he's giving me these wrestlers'.

Not looking good for Rampage. But I definitely want to see this fight.

I just hope Shogun is motivated, but more so healthy and in-shape. To me he's the #2 LHW in the world with all those things going for him.

Better be five rounds. I'm sick of Decision Jackson.

This, I was pissed Ellenberger/Sanchez wasn't 5 rds. And not because of who won, because all main events were made to be 5 rds not long ago implemented by the UFC.

Quinton's been in more unsatisfying 3 round decisions than anyone I can think of. Fights where nothign at all was established after 15 mins.

To be fair, the Machida fight established that had the fight gone another few mins, Quinton woulda gotten that ass whooped even more.

Meh.

If Rampage clearly doesn't care, why should I?

"@Rampage4real: 2 keep it real, the Shogun fight will have 2 wait,I just found out that I have 2 get surgery on both knees, but I heal fast don't trip"

From his twitter

Official: Jackson could care less about fighting.

Yes, it is a necessary procedure, but why put that info out there when you clearly know you're gonna be on the shelf for a year plus?

Doesn't matter, Shogun would ruin him once again.

Glad this is Rampage's last fight, I am sick of his whining.

He keeps talking about the UFC not showing him respect and some other random crap, but at the end of the day he is plain not trying.

In a sport that is constantly evolving, he is devolving as a fighter. As a mid level fighter sure you can rely on knock out power, but at the top (where he thinks he is) you need a much, much more diverse game. When he was in pride, for whatever reason, he had that, the further he got into his UFC career, the more predictable and less diverse he became.

Not to say he isn't talented, because he is, he just doesn't put the effort in, either in training or mentally (to prepare himself for a fight).

He clearly doesn't care and blames it on everything else. The UFC, injuries, under training, over training, wrong training.

End of the day there comes a point where its just you. If you have so many issues in so many fights (I can't remember his last fight he didn't moan, maybe Wandy?), you have to think there is something up.

*self edit* reading that above comment, he is already piling out the excuses.

Its a shame, because when he came to the UFC he was one of my favourites, but now I just find him disrespectful, not to other fighters, but just in general. Watching interviews with him, especially with women, is like watching a caveman. He went from somewhat funny and weirdly charasmatic to just plain offensive. Anyone remember him fake motorboating a interview woman? she just didn't know where to look. Even if he is joking with the likes of Ariel H, its stupid that someone can't make a genuine criticism of him (Ariel or Joe R) and not have to face some sort of verbal or written backlash from him, that often is down right rude or aggressive.

Sorry for the rant, but he has got my back up the past couple of years.

Shogun will probably wreck him if he can avoid the hook, which he probably can since thats all he needs to worry about really. No leg kicks, no take downs, even if it went to the ground you can't really expect a slam and certainly not a submission.

His lack of interest in fighting is ever apparent, and if your not interested I can hardly see that person trying to improve those parts of the game.

But, prove me wrong Rampage, I'd love to see him go out with a bang and make us yearn for him back in the UFC. If he goes out how he came in, all piss and fire, I'll love it.

It sucks that he's pulling out and if you're a fan it definitely sucks that he doesn't seem to have fire anymore.

I can't fault him (or any wishy-washy about their future fighter) though. He's spent a significant part of his life beating people up/getting beaten up. That has to take a psychological toll on you, even if you're a borderline sadist like Rampage. And the endless succession of injuries high-level fighters deal with, bah. It's not for soft people.

Indeed.

He's not my favourite fighter, but his spot in the history of MMA is cemented.

I think everyone hoped Rampage would grow up and use his skill to the maximum, but it never really all came together like it could have.

This guy needs to turn off the phone and laptop and law low for a while. He's doing his image some damage by complaining to a large portion of his fans who are terrified they won't have enough money this year for their own families.......not a good look.

I still never miss one of his fights though.
