Former Pride fighter win a UFC title ever again?
I know Silva has the MW belt.
Diaz got close.
Big Nog, Wandy, Cro-Cop, Gomi, not going to happen.
Rampage, don't think so.
Anyone that fought in Pride, now in Zuffa, will there be one more to do it?
Henderson is the last hope, or so I think.
Thoughts?

Well I man Diaz was a controversial decision away from getting an interim title a couple of months ago, and people see Overeem/JDS as a coin flip. (Not that anyone cares about interim titles.)

Shogun still has a shot when Jones moves up to heavyweight.

Overeem and Hioki come to mind immediately.

Went through that list, and these are the only names I could come up with that had even an outside shot...
Mousasi
Werdum
Shogun
Belfort
Lombard
Hioki
Aoki
Kawajiri
Overeem
Henderson
Melendez
Barnett
Diaz
Most (if not all) of them would be pretty heavy underdogs against the current champ in their division and the top 2-3 contenders as well.

Yeah...half the guys on the list I wouldn't really consider "Pride fighters."

Yea we need to better define what a "Pride fighter is. If we use the same definitions as these guys are using then technically Cain Velesquez was a Strikeforce fighter b4 he was a UFC guy because he made his debut in Strikeforce. I think you call a guy a Pride when he fought for the organization fairly regularly or saw his greatest success in Pride. The only way you can call some of these guys (Aoki, Mousasi etc.) Pride fighters is if you feel that DREAM was essentially Pride FC under a different name. For me there is a big difference between what I consider a Pride fighter (Fedor, Quentin Rampage Jackson, Dan Henderson, Shogun etc.) and many of the guys on this list.
Mousasi
Werdum
Shogun
Belfort
Lombard
Hioki
Aoki
Kawajiri
Overeem
Henderson
Melendez
Barnett
Diaz

This seemed much more brillianter yesterday.
Yeah, Pride fighter would entail that said fighter would have competed multiple times in the org, and his stint was established.
I guess, without going to deep, we're seeing the last of the old guard filter out. If Henderson really is the last one, kind of strange.

Re: Former Pride fighter win a UFC title ever again?
If we define a "Pride fighter" as a guy who saw his greatest success in Pride, doesn't that sort of ensure or at least make it likely that we won't see one of said fighters hold ufc gold? The criterion for being defined as a Pride fighter almost means the fighter would be on the decline since his great success is in the past?
I think we'd have to define it as a guy who had a certain number of fights in Pride. I mean Diaz fought for Pride once, no Pride fighter for sure. Whereas a guy like Overeem definitely saw greater success post-pride, but had 10+ fights in Pride.

Well it would certainly need to be refined to fit guys like Overeem but because most of the guys we defined as Pride fighters are on the decline is proof positive that they are Pride fighters. You've gotta remember that Pride died in early 2007. That was 5 years ago. Many of the best Pride fighters were fighting regularly for Pride long b4 that point so it makes sense that most if not all of them are on the decline.
