Boxing Podcasts

Post#1 » by cowboyronnie » Thu Sep 6, 2012 7:13 pm

Hey, you guys should listen to the Jay Mohr interview with Ray Mancini on his podcast. Great stuff.

What else is there out there? I don't care about weirdo basement dwellers giving their opinions on contemp boxing, I want interviews with old timers. On The Grind is pretty great and has a lot of old timers, but they're not particularly probing interviewers. Also, most of the guys they interview are just bitter egomaniacs at this point.

Mohr really had Mancini describe his experiences in a fascinating manner. Fear and such. And Boom Boom is an awesome guy.

What does Bryan Callen talk about on his podcasts? Random stuff, informal? Or is there a theme? More interview style?

There always 45min to an hour of him interviewing someone. The one with Sam Sheridan seems to have disappeared now but it was really great. A couple of them have also sucked, the one with his dad, with Jeremy Piven, etc. And the intellectualism and self-importance. "One thing I've always said..." STFU.

I listened to a couple of Rogan podcasts of him since you said they talk mma, and he kind of seems to me like he just sucks up to Rogan half the time lol. Then he will start dropping mma knowledge, he trained at American Top Team, he talked to this fighter that fighter etc., then Rogan will name a random b level guy (Mac Danzig) and he will be like "who is that"? lol idk if that is as weird as I thought it was or not.
