Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone targeted for Jan. 26, possibly UFC on FOX 6

According to Cerrone, it was the first of several times that he was unsuccessful in securing a fight with the ex-WEC champ.

"Every time I suggest it, his manager comes back and says, 'Well, maybe 'Cowboy' could fight somebody else right now,' and it's just this excuse to not fight," he said.

Pettis' camp disputed that claim and said the fighter would be ready to fight Cerrone, especially if a title shot were on the line.

"Anthony is running for whoever has got the belt, and unfortunately for 'Cowboy,' it's never been him," Pettis' manager, Mike Roberts, said.

Still unconfirmed.....but.....

If Pettis wins, he deserves winner of Diaz/Bendo.

If Cerrone wins, I think he still needs another win at 155, especially after getting lit up by Nate Diaz.

Please, please, please let it be Chicago.

I'm a big Pettis fan and could get tickets if it's in Chicago. The Showtime kick was awesome, I told him I was a big fan of his when I was drunk and stumbling out of Fedor vs. Hendo, and I'm going to start training and Duke Roufus soon.

Oh, and Cowboy is awesome also.

Page says he's fighting Glover at this event:

"Outside the cage I hate no one. Life is too short for that," he wrote. "Inside the cage my Job is to destroy! Glover is done on Jan 26 in Chicago."

That would put this fight on the UFC on Fox 6 card, which heads to the United Center in Chicago on that date. The event is also expected to feature a lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis.

Matyushenko is 4-2 in his current UFC run?? I am completely shocked. Those two run-through losses to Gus and JJ stand out so much.

Badass card down to the Bader vs. Vladdy fight, where it falls off a cliff, but considering it's the 7th fight from the top, that's not bad at all.

Completely forgot about the Guida vs. Hioki fight. At least that it was on this card. Very interested in that.

Seems like it will be a tough one to pick. Not much is jumping out at me as obvious picks; hopefully some will emerge in those bottom 4 fights once I figure out who those guys are.

RZ, PP and MD better let us start a Pettis thread for this fight. It's free on network TV, a bunch of fans on that board would be interested in watching it, but they may not even be aware that it's on. However, then like you say they allow video game threads which don't have special local interest.

Grant-Wiman is an outstanding fight on the prelims. It's a sleeper candidate for FOTN. And the winner thrusts himself into LW contendership.

Sean Spencer is a good prospect but he's in a bad situation here. He's really a smallish ww, who should consider a move down to LW, yet he'll be debuting against Rafa Natal at MW. And if he has a weakness, it's BJJ. He took the fight just to get in the door.
