I wonder/hope they air prelims on MTV2. I think that would be cool as hell.

I don't think they are at enough quality yet to justify that. That works for UFC because they have deep cards. And to a lesser extent for SF as well, who holds cards occasionally, and have been freer spenders. Bellator has frequent cards and they've been relatively conservative about their payroll allocation. They save their money for their main cards/tournaments/championships. Maybe next season or a year or so when Bellator has become more popular from Spike. It doesn't have to be on MTV2 either. Viacom has a lot of channels, some smaller than that. They could put it on their version of Fuel, whatever that may be. For now one figures it'll be still on Spike.com.

Looking forward to the Renato Sobral fight. I doubt he will ever be invited back to the UFC, but his record is pretty impressive and it's been awhile since I have seen him.

Card is complete. Main card is only 3 fights because of the titles. I don't agree with the decision. A main card should be 4 fights minimum, especially if we're talking a debut. I remember them bandying about the idea of 6 fight main cards. That sure went by the wayside. Maybe it will return when they're not on so late out east.

This card is great at the top, but not very deep. They kind of set this tournament up for a Mo-Babalu final, with Mo pushing through.

This is getting pushed pretty hard on RealGM.

I'm surprised by all the advertising here.

Consider me a fan of MMA cards on Thurs night.

Kevin Kay says they are going to go hard for this debut, I'm interested to see the changes.

Chandler should be a star, and will be if marketed right by Bellator and Spike.

I've seen the ads all over the place, and they're strong, but it takes a lot of time to seep into the average person's consciousness about something which hasn't already gained their interest. They forgot about it as soon as the commercial was over. At this point I think what benefit it does have is to remind die hards who like any decent MMA and people who have watched in the past to tune in tonight. X-Factor viewers for this debut will be gained or lost depending on if the action and production is good as they're flipping thru the channels. As far as gaining name recognition among casuals and the general public, that is not going to be seen for at least around a year, if it does ever happen.

I got Freire over Curran and Chandler over Hawn. Chandler will use his speed, and Hawn will be a beat slow on the counter-punches. Freire will do the same the same against Curran.

Hopefully they put a 4th fight on the main card. 3 fights is too thin for a 2+ hour telecast, even if the title fights go 5. Not enough diversity and action. Petruzelli-Noe weighed in after Jimmy Smith said, "and now for the televised portion of the card". I don't particularly care which fight they'd add.

I think the bellator ads during the fox commercials could really pay off for them. Hardcore fans don't see the ufc as their everything, and if there are any ultra brand new people seeing these ads as their mma interest picks up steam, that could be the case for them as well.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone hit the mat from a punch harder than that. Holy ****.

The production looks great but every time they zoom into the rafters before they introduce a fighter makes me think Sting is up there.

I was looking forward to watching Bellator for the first time tonight, but my TV doesn't get fuel and the bar that shows all the UFC events isn't showing it. :-(

Chandler looked like a monster. The Curran/Pitball fight was excellent. The Light Heavyweight tourney imploded in record time.
