Back for year 3.

I voted for Maia, since that was the one that jumped out among the nominees, but at the time I don't remember thinking of it as a submission of the year kind of thing...just thought it was crazy how he squeezed the blood out of Story's face like he was juicing an orange.

Gotta go Maia because I thought he ripped his brain stem off his spine.

Forgot about the calf slicer. That was disgusting.

Gotta go with Demian.

I also like Nate Diaz's finish of Jim Miller.

Amoussou on Baker, mostly for the involved setup. Unless they are real exotic, like the platas, the setup is what makes the submission special. And this one is really cool. Counter leg trip perfectly timed, reverse body lock, reverse roll, inverted heel hook.

Sentimental favorite, unique technique, brutal application...gotta go with Maia. No question. To see Story's chagrined face was just awesome.
