Peak Fedor should be the winner by but I wouldn't put it past Cormier to win ugly. His performance against Frank Mir makes me think he wouldn't be adverse to dry humping Fedor against the cage for 15 minutes to get a boring victory.

The fans would win.

Call me crazy, but I'd take Prime Fedor over anyone.

The only debate would be with Jones... and I'd still see Fedor finding a way to finish him.

I can't vote until I have my question answered. I have Fedor winning in Pride, and Cormier winning in the UFC.

fixed your statements. Sure, there are some quirks for Pride that affect fights (soccer kicks, scoring the overall fight rather than round by round etc.) the cage vs. the ring is clearly the biggest differentiating factor here.

Yeah, Cormier beat the piss outta Mir. Just didn't look sexy doing it... because Mir is good himself.

Spare me the self righteous whining.

Yes. Mir is a talented fighter. No one is disputing that. Cormier did dominate Mir. There is no disputing that either. But you know what else is beyond dispute.

1. That Frank Mir generally gets more than just dominated when he fights guys who are better than him he gets destroyed. It happened against Lesnar. It happened again against Carwin. It happened again against JDS. In fact this fight was the only decision loss Mir has suffered amongst his 7 career losses. Cormier is near the level of those guys if not at their level. And as we've seen against Bigfoot Silva Cormier is certain capable to destroying guys. And its not exactly like Cormier set the world on fire when he stopped the much smaller Dion Starling in January either.

2. That Cormier was the one initiating the clinches against the cage. Sure, Mir mixed things up by throwing kicks but in reality its not like Cormier was in their against a prime Cro Cop.

I think Fedor would have obliterated current Cormier. I know that Cormier is a monster, but Fedor still handled some pretty good wrestlers in his time.

Randleman and Coleman are not Cormier. They were totally one-dimensional...where Cormier has the smoothest boxing in the entire damn sport, aside from his wrestling background. And nevermind htose knees he was throwing. He destroys Fedor.
