Santa Cruz over Munoz
Munoz is over-the-hill

Rosado over Love
-Rosado really isn't good but Love was completely drained for the weigh-in

PDL over Mares
-Mares' two fights at 122 were against two natural bantamweights and PDL is a legit sized featherweight, think the skills and size will slightly push PDL over the edge. This fight also has sleeper potential, as in putting people to sleep(exaggerating). PDL had an uninteresting fight vs prime Gamboa, just saying.

Mayweather over Guerrero
Probably looks something like Demarco vs Broner

Fight predictions:

Rosado MD

- Love is not only weight drained from having to lose weight but might be in a bit deeper than he's shown. Rosado comes across as someone who is definitely better than his record indicates and is someone who brings it every fight. One crappy scorecard for Love but Rosado will be the deserved victor here.

Santa Cruz TKO-6

- Santa Cruz has shown an ability to break you down to the body until you can't take it anymore. Had some struggles in his last fight in December, most likely due to being in the ring less than a month after his previous fight. He's taken some time off and I expect to see a rejuvenated Santa Cruz. More volume than power as he usually averages in the neighborhood of 110+ punches a round. One of the most entertaining young fighters to watch in boxing.

Mares UD

- Mares brings the fight to the awkward PDL to get the decision in a rough yet fun kind of fight. Hardly ever in a bad fight due to his volume punching, Mares is very good to the body but has a tendency to get a bit low with his body shots and also has a tendency to rabbit punch. PDL is no stranger to employing dirty tactics as well, so ref Jay Nady is going to be quite busy.

Mayweather UD

- I see the pressure of Guerrero causing some issues for Mayweather early on in the fight, making for a close fight through 6 with the undefeated Floyd taking over the fight from that point forward to take a unanimous decision, 9 rounds to 3. Guerrero will put up a hell of a fight but he'll prove to be not even be on Miguel Cotto's class, who gave Floyd some problems in the middle rounds. I think Floyd has an easier time adjusting to Guerrero.

Easier than I expected, outclassed. Guerrero is a nice fighter but proved that he doesn't belong in the ring with world class opposition, which is nothing shocking. He'll still be a factor at 147 against some of the other WW's, some interesting fights to be made there for him. As for Mayweather, he was definitely more elusive than in recent fights. Right hands looked sharp as always. I doubt he's fighting Alvarez in September, so it looks like it will be Amir Khan. If he doesn't knock him out, I'll be surprised. Khan has fast hands but one of the weakest chins ever.

Mares/PDL stoppage was a bit early but Mares would've got him out of there sooner than later. I was very impressed with Mares' featherweight debut. Showed versatility to his game. Only issue is I can't see him moving up much higher to garner more attention. He's a small dude but he's one of the best in the game.

Santa Cruz just beat the hell out of Munoz. Love watching him fight, **** I feel a pain in my body seeing the shots he lands to the body. I thought the corner should've stopped it earlier than they did, it was clear that Munoz was done after the previous round. SC got some love from the casuals watching the fight on my FB feed, he's pretty much a must if your trying to put together an entertaining undercard.

I felt Rosado won a narrow decision, thanks to the KD. No problems with Love winning as it was truly a fight that could've gone either side, except for the 97-92 score...that was BS. It was a much closer fight than giving Rosado 2 rounds.

Overall, it was a great undercard and I was hoping for a bit of a tougher, more entertaining main event but there was really no doubt about who was going to win.

I mean did anyone really expect a different outcome tonight? Guerrero was tailor made for Floyd. A come forward pressure fighter with not so great defense. Easy to counter and pot shot. Right now there's no one at 147 that will give Floyd a fight. Canelo might give him trouble in the future though.

yep, canelo would be an intriguing fight, probably a bigger challenge than guerrero, but otherwise their is nothing left for him at 147.. hes gotta move back up
i was surprised with how much ease he beat gurerro thou

If Canelo works on his stamina issues, he could be a real threat to Floyd. Which is why he needs another fight under his belt. The thing is Canelo can't afford to tire out the way he did against Trout, because Mayweather will start to buckle down after the first couple of rounds. He has to stay aggressive with those combinations and can't take rounds off.

The two significant advantages that Canelo would have over Floyd is in size and power. Canelo blows up past 147 on fight night, while hitting like a middle weight these days. And as good as Floyd's defense is, he can still get hit. Floyd will actually feel it this time when he gets hit to the body or the face. There's a huge difference in getting hit by a 147 pounder, and getting hit by a guy that possesses power two weight classes above him.

Hard to put pressure when you're getting countered all the time.

I believe Lara will give Floyd a challenge.

I mean I give Mayweather credit. Even at 36, his skills are vastly superior to everyone else around him. Guerrero is no pushover either. He's a legit welter. But at the same time, Guerrero really doesn't possess good defensive skills. He leaves himself open to getting hit. I expected this outcome.

I mentioned Lara in the Mayweather/Guerrero thread on the Knicks board. He has the skills and size to give Floyd problems.

If Canelo works on his stamina issues, and continues to improve his defense, he could challenge Floyd. But I think he needs maybe one or two more fights under his belt first. His defense has improved and the head movement impressed me. The thing is, he took rounds off against Trout because he was tiring out a bit. You can't do that against Floyd.
