Jones back in Toronto again. Should be interesting to see how he's received this time. I've been to each of his fights here in Toronto, and the crowd seemed split on him until he had his hand raised.

I'm sure this won't happen but I'd love to see them add Barao and Wineland to this card and give the lighter weight belts a little PPV exposure.

Schaub and Mitrione now moved to this card. I can take a guess who Ralek Gracie will be rooting for that night.

Khabib Nurmagomedov added to this card. I'd buy tickets just to watch this fight lol.

Renan Barao vs Eddie Wineland for the interim bantamweight championship belt added to the card. 2nd time Toronto got 2 title fights on one card.

Anyone give either challenger much of a shot in the title fights?

The hype seems to be that Gustafsson is the first guy that can match Jones' size, except, he can't. He's tall, but Jones still has a massive reach advantage on him, and technique advantages in every area of MMA. He does that big Dominic Cruz footwork stuff, but I still don't think that helps him win a striking contest with Jones. Maybe he'll have some success kicking Jones' chicken legs, but I don't think that will be enough to win him a round, let alone the fight. Going to be one of Jones' easier title defenses, IMO.

I had kind of forgotten that Wineland was the #1 contender. I thought he had a size advantage, but after looking into it, Barao is the same height with a longer reach. He's got some power, but other than that, I don't see him having a chance. It's one of those cases where the gatekeeper to the stars wins a couple fights at a time where nobody else is ready to challenge for the title. I don't think that goes well for him.

I like the Healy/Nurmagomedov, Jury/Ricci, and Menjivar/Reis fights from the rest of the card. Not too psyched about anything else though.

Gustafson doesn't have nearly enough power to threaten Bones enough to intrigue me whatsoever. Jones beats him wherever he wants to beat him imo.

Without having looked at the rest of the card. 10) Bones

Lol this bothers me. The UFC pushed this fight like it's going to silence all the critics who talk about Jones' size/reach advantage blah blah. Gustafsson is an inch taller but Jones still has a 7 inch reach advantage. Not that I think the reason for his success is his reach but him fighting Gustafsson does nothing to test him against a similarly proportioned fighter.

I think that Gus could give Jon Jones his toughest title fight to date, but I don't think that he can win.

I had forgotten that Wineland was the number one contender as well. When is Dominick Cruz coming back?

I honestly don't see any reason why Jones can't do to Gus what he did to Vera. Unless he carries him like he did Vitor for some reason.

I'll miss this event. At first I was bummed, then I realized that my 10 and 9 in the pool will almost definitely be the two title fights. So, meh. Try to catch it on Sunday after the Packer game if possible.

So, when the hell does the interim tag get lifted from Barao's title?

As of October 1st, Cruz won't have defended the belt in two years. There would be nothing stopping them from giving Cruz a shot when he comes back either way. Does the "unification bout" have more cache than the upgrade from "interim championship bout" to "championship bout" in Barao's fights?

Dana said it'll change at the end of the year if Cruz hasn't fought.
