Jamie Varner won this last year, in it's first year as a category.

Went with Lawler. Last fight of 2012 was a loss to Lorenz Larkin, first fight of 2014 will be a title shot. Pretty impressive.

Yeah, gotta go with Lawler.

Who did you leave off from Bellator, in your neverending attempt to destroy the promotion?

Passive aggressive alert.....

I wasn't going to say s**t, other than to maybe chime in that I agree about Lawler. But I don't post to be redundant much. Rather to chime in with the necessary, underrepresented take, which is often about a Bellator fighter at the present. And I'm going to keep doing it when I see fit. Deep down in places you don't talk about on this board, you want me on those takes, you need me on those takes.

Mark Hunt was out of the sport, man. He seemed indifferent to his own career. He got back in, was given a shot, on a technicality. IIUC. 'Let's finish this contract off, the last vestige of the Pride acquisition.' He appeared to take the fights with more of a shrug and an 'alright, mate' than any kind of hunger.

Meanwhile, he ends up being a solid draw and puttng on crazy fights.

Lawler had been headlining SF fights (albeit, SF fights) for 4-5 years. With those beautiful finishes - I mean, that Manhoef fight was insane and proved him legit. What, four years back? KOing MM? That's far from obscurity. Hunt, he was lost to history.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Hunt definitely fell further, but that was a few years ago. His first fight in 2013 was a main event (I think?) and he went 1-1-1 this year.

Lawler is up there for sure. Think it's Faber though. Had 4 solid wins and now in line for a shot at the belt.

I'd argue Faber was never out of line for a shot at the belt. He had a great year, but he never fell out of the top 5. Not sure he qualifies for comeback fighter.
