http://mmajunkie.com/2014/01/wsof-vs-be ... challenge/

Quinton Jackson (BMMA) vs. Tyrone Spong (WSOF)
Anthony Johnson (WSOF) vs. Attila Vegh (BMMA)
Andrei Arlovski (WSOF) vs. Vitaly Minakov (BMMA)
Eduardo Dantas (BMMA) vs. Marlon Moraes (WSOF)
Yushin Okami (WSOF) vs. Alexander Shlemenko (BMMA)
Douglas Lima (BMMA) vs. Rousimar Palhares (WSOF)
Michael Chandler (BMMA) or Eddie Alvarez (BMMA) vs. Justin Gaethje (WSOF)
Georgi Karakhanyan (WSOF) vs. Daniel Straus (BMMA)
Jon Fitch (WSOF) vs. Rick Hawn (BMMA)
David Branch (WSOF) vs. Brett Cooper (BMMA)

Some interesting matchups buuuuuuuut if it has to cost half what the UFC charges for me to even think about ordering it.

Nice deep card, but no individual fights I'd be super excited about.

I guess this could still be spun as WSOF doing the UFC's bidding, as Bellator will have a hard time getting a PR win here.

Pretty much no chance of it happening though. Closest thing was probably Dream vs Sengoku at K-1 Dynamite 2009.

Even if the promotions could agree on a cross-promoted event (unlikely), you would never get all of these guys on the same fight schedules.

Yeah, it's just being suggested, because they know Bellator will say no on account of their relative stature in the industry, just as Strikeforce declined them previously, and UFC have declined many. And then when Bellator declines, they'll be accused of ducking.

The cherry picked match-ups were a nice touch to try and make WSOF look good relative to Bellator too. Because they purposely left out their ww #1 (Carl) since he already lost to Bellator's (Lima), pitted Spong against a striker, for a feature picked a mw (probably Bellator's worst division) in Branch and then matched him up against like Bellator's #4 in Cooper, etc. Also, outside of two divisions, they don't have champions. So that allowed them to pick whoever they thought matched up best with Bellator's champs. This wouldn't even work in the hypothetical world, let alone in the real, until WSOF had a full set of champs.

Still, the die hard, general mma fans I've read think Bellator would win 6 of 10 of those on average. It's probably about 8 of 11 if they would be chosen by a neutral or they were mutually chosen.

It would be fun to watch, but it's never happening.

This is hilarious. wsof has only had 7 events. Do they even have champions (besides ww)?

I swear a few months ago they were about to cancel a show the day of because they couldn't figure out how to put their cage together lol.

This also takes all of both companies bankable fighters and puts them on the same card, thus ensuring they have no interesting shows for months on either side of this supposed PPV.

I didn't realize this "challenge" was issued on mmahour. Ariel was a little taken aback at one part I think, the dude was talking about bellator's popularity and was like when was the last time a bellator fighter got interviewed? When was the last time they were on this show? You only have them on this show when they have problems with bellator. (paraphrasing). Ariel changes topic. lulz.

This Abel-Aziz guy drools over the ufc and mentions their "great relationship" with the ufc as well. Dana is like the puppetmaster pulling the strings in this whole interview.

Also loled at the irony when he mentioned bellator signs ufc rejects.

Would pay $15 for.

Georgi Karakhanyan/Lima/Chandler/Dantas/Moares would be worth it.
