MMA Fighter Torrez fights home invasion, might get charged.

Here are the facts:
1. Previous altercation between MMA fighter Joe Torrez and gang members.
2. Gang member calls Torrez telling him they're coming to kill him and his family.
3. 4 Armed thugs show up with prison shanks at Torrez's home while he's there with his family and friends
4. RL PPV fight where Torrez using his MMA skills pwns all 4 thugs.
5. Gang leader dead from multiple stab wounds, his #2 at the hospital with his face caved in. Even though Torrez was 1-5 in his pro career, he was a perfect 4-0 at home even though he took on all 4 armed thugs at the same time.
So now here comes the controversy. There's a possibility Torrez might face charges stemming for excessive use of force because he's a MMA fighter. So it's ok to shoot people when they invade your home, but it's apparently not ok to beat the living **** out of them if you don't fight like a scrub....
If he had any gang affiliations and did something illegal then he should be charged for those crimes. But he shouldn't be persecuted because he defended his home with his family and friends present. That's just plain dumb. Also how STUPID do you need to be to invade a professional fighter's home armed with only prison shanks? Like that's some real (Please Use More Appropriate Word) logic there.
