Cotto vs Martinez, June 7th 2014

Post#1 » by CWebb2491 » Sun Mar 9, 2014 11:52 pm

Cotto vs Martinez should be a classic. With Freddy in his corner Cotto went back to his roots and showed he can still be the lethal body puncher he once was. He went away from it after the Margo fight, im pulling for Cotto to win his 4th divisional belt in different weight classes for the 1st time in Puerto Rican history. Martinez is a very worthy opponent and know he can be very dangerous. How do you guys see this fight turning out?

P.S Viva Puerto Rico! War Cotto! ...... Sorry had to do it, im very passionate when it comes to boxing

This fight interests me a lot. I am a huge fan of both guys especially Cotto (since I am also a Puerto Rican). But how this fight goes depends upon how well Martinez recovers from his injuries and how well Cotto's power carries over to the new weight class.

A little bump since it's fight week.

Going with Martinez based on size and speed, though the latter could be a question mark given his past injuries in the last couple years. The other guy Cotto fought who had comparable size was Austin Trout and he just didn't look very good in that fight. I know Cotto is now with a different trainer and Martinez has had knee problems lately, so I think that could make this fight quite interesting.

Martinez looked old and hobbled on that knee.

Disappointing fight.

Andy Lee was the best part of the night.

It's a shame that Martinez wasn't 100% but I'm just happy to see a dominant win for Miguel.
