Wow, did these all just get announced? Pretty solid card. Maybe a little weak up top, if the top fights stay as is.

Lawler vs. Brown is a great fight though, and I'm glad it's happening so soon.

AJ vs. Lil Nog is actually a pretty reasonable fight to make. Winner can legitimately be in a title eliminator, if not just challenge for the title outright.

Thomson vs. Johnson is a great test to see where Johnson is.

Ditto for Cruickshank against Masvidal, though I think Masvidal holds court there.

Bermudez vs. Guida is another fight in the same vein.

Didn't recognize Lahat, thought he might be a top prospect making his debut, but he already lost. Could still be a good prospect though. Anyone know much about him?

IDK, to hear AKA dudes talk he is one of the baddest dudes around with a lot of potential. Then he made his ufc debut and got KOed immediately. Not sure what the context was, I think it must have been on fightpass or maybe one of the cards that I just didn't watch.

Want Robbie/Brown to be a war but i honestly just see a one sided devastation by Robbie. Hes on another level
Dont care for Rumble/Nog but i dont see Rumble as a threat to the Bones/Gus/Dc tier so ill root for a Lil Nog troll
The Menace has been tearing it up i hope he KOs Joshs annoying ass but the grappling difference is too big IMO

Gamebred is a notoriously slow starter thats well rounded, great grappler and striking altho he can be too passive standing.......hes the Lw Kampmann more or less. He has to be careful early or he will get stopped despite his insane chin

Bermudez is one of my fave fighters so entertaining........why put him up against boring as **** Guida......I **** hate Guida

So I've been pretty open on here about how I've pretty much picked against Lawler is the vast majority of his ufc fights. On the flip side, I have picked Brown is every fight for the last several years, I was surprised when he was a dog to Erick Silva for sure.

That said, Robbie Lawler decimates Matt Brown, right?

Wouldn't touch that fight with a ten foot pole.

I mean, yeah, on paper, it's all Lawler. But Matt Brown is different. You can't train for what he brings to the table. I'm probably hella romanticizing it, but I'm convinced that intangibles matter in this sport, esp. the intangibles he possesses.

I want to see him actually get outworked, beaten up, and cleanly defeated before I say, "oh, shoot yeah, he's going to get destroyed".

It's weird... a loss right now would tell you more about Brown's standing than a win, but that's the deal with inconsistent match making.

I'm just wondering if there is a certain point where physical toughness ends and the limits of the human physiology begin....and I'm pretty sure Robbie Lawler's power goes past that certain point. IDK if Brown is the greatest defensive fighter.

Very eloquently and aptly stated, sir.

BTW, I love this fight. It has fireworks written all over it for as long or short as it lasts. And going by previous Brown fights, it will probably be a short one, with Lawler taking too big of a lobe of his liver to allow him to continue this time. If he doesn't, recent history has shown he won't gas (like Silva) or break (like Mein), so he'll have more chances at it.

The card overall is pretty good too.

Agree with both you guys.

Lawler's going to hit him in the body early and often because his defense isn't great and he's vulnerable, but Brown shouldn't be counted out until he's finally put away. While the level of comp is nowhere near the level of Lawler's, he's shown everything he'd need to beat him with his sub D, toughness, power, wrestling, and gas tank during the streak. IF his midsection holds up and IF Lawler gets frustrated, who knows, there's 25 possible minutes there.

BTW Dana said the winner of Lawler/Brown will fight for the title next.

So StunGun/Lombard and Woodley/Rory are all a few away?

So finally got around to watching Brown-Silva and while a fun as **** fight, it just reinforces that I don't think Brown has a thing for Lawler other than that chin. His slow and sloppy striking, though ferocious, won't connect against Robbie, the skill and speed disparity is just too great, and even if Robbie won't finish him, he'll tee off all fight long. Should be a fun fight, but I don't really see it being very competitive.

I need a Bermie knockout in that fight once Clay starts bouncing around.

Bermudez is like the Matt Brown of featherweight. Longest winning streak in the division even if it isn't against the best opponents, 6 in a row.
