Didn't see a thread within the first two pages, about this.

Josh Burkman returns to the UFC, will fight Lombard on this card.

Josh Burkman rejoins ufc.

EDIT: LOL and I just read he'll be facing Lombard. I love how Rory is facing Tarec Saffedine and Lombard is facing Josh Burkman.

Woodley and Rory should be ashamed of themselves for ducking Lombard so hard.

I already knew this for some reason (I think when I was looking for a spot to put Dillashaw/Cruz), but you're right, there's no thread yet.

Rousey vs. Zingano is going to be on here as well, according to MMAJunkie. That's new, I think. Thought it was still up in the air. Zingano is going to get wrecked. No chance.

Lombard vs. Burkman? Gotta keep busy I guess. Don't see why they would go through the trouble of bringing back Burkman only to offer him up as a sacrifice to Lombard though.

Seems like the UFC is starting to stack cards a bit again, although it may just be the way the schedule has worked itself out/the cards look stacked because it's too early for anyone to pull out with an injury.

Starting in December, it goes
181: Hendricks/Lawler, Pettis/Melendez
FOX 13: JDS/Miocic, Nate Diaz/RDA, Overeem/Struve
182: Jones/DC, Rousey/Zingano
183: Nick Diaz/Anderson Silva

Of course, that might just been the seemingly weekly cards are even ****, but I prefer that to all-mediocre-all-the-time.

Burkman was running for governor, no? As some boot-strapping populist. I guess the guy really lives by the values of hard work and sacrifice, I'll give him that. (In this case, being the sacrifice)

I actually have to have crazy respect for this. WTF dude. From WSOF/inactivity to Lombard?

The UFC really had to go outside the UFC to find an opponent?? Someone desperate enough to get back in that they could leverage them into the fight.

All the so-called top contenders at ww seemingly don't want anything to do with Lombard. I mean if these guys get the belt they will have to face him eventually I'm guessing so I don't get it.

We also get to see Machida fight in December. Crazy how stacked December/January are. Hopefully everyone stays healthy.

EDIT: And between now and December we get Aldo vs. Mendes, Cain vs. Werdum, and Edgar vs. Swanson. I really hope everyone stay healthy.

I am pumped for jones vs Cormier.
I honestly have no idea who will win. I am sort of leaning toward DC though. I have to go With great wrestling, and huge KO power over superb technique.

I also don't think Jones has really ever been on his back in a fight before? I think it might break him.

I dont see jones KOing or subbing DC, so that leaves out pointing...and in a five round fight I always give the point advantage to the wrestler (although that backfired with Hendrix/lawler, with the Vegas judges).

My path to victory for jones is to pick and pop, tire Cormier out in the first two rounds and hope your gas tank is a lot better than his.

The only safe prediction I have is that this will be one of the best fights of the year from an excitement and intrigue perspective.

I think people are sleeping a bit on this match up, due to the delay, wanting Gus, the scuffle or whatever. The undefeated (ask Dana) LHW Goat vs. an undefeated challenger, Olympic wrestler who was the #1 or 2 HW contender. Read somewhere there's been something like 10 guys with 9 fight win streaks in the UFC/Pride/Strikeforce/WEC and this is the first time two of them have fought. We might not get another match up that equals this for a long time.

Ya, I'm surprised there's not more of a discussion around this fight. It's my personal most anticipated fight since GSP vs Diaz, but even with that I clearly thought GSP would win handedly. This fight is a toss up, and it has a guy who is being touted as a potential GOAT candidate coming in, in his prime, as the underdog in many peoples eyes.

This is the best fight we've seen in a long time, and could be the best fight we'll see for an even longer time.

I'm more excited for this fight, possibly than I ever have been for any fight.

But its hard to talk about it and get discussion when there is an event every week. It would seem weird to be talking too much Bones/Cormier leading us to this last event for example. I haven't looked at the UFC's schedule but hopefully they have a few weeks to actually promote this one for once.

Yeah... it's a legit superstar fight, as good as anything they can put together now or for the next while. But overexposure. My feeling is that folks resent how UFC stretched their brand and are so petty about it that they don't appreciate when there are actual GOOD fights or good cards because they're sandwiched between cards that have 5-3 regional fighters against 6-2 regional fighters.

I will admit to being a little more of a casual UFC fan, but this particular match-up is really exciting. Just from a pure interest standpoint I personally wish I could see Silva vs. GSP, Jones vs. Cain and Pettis vs. Aldo. Those are the three fights I'd be most excited about seeing, even though I admit they may not be ideal matchups and definitely are "superfights" that rarely come together.

I'm not quite as into gsp/silva as most, but replace that one with Cormier/Cain and that is a pretty great list. Not to mention Bones/Cormier is ridiculous and will be fun.

Everytime Aldo and Pettis fight I just think how much more I want to see that one. So many good fights for Aldo at 155 although I do kind of want to see him thump Conor before/if he moves.

Relatively speaking, I'm not that pumped for it...unsure why.

Cormier himself tanked some of my interest when mentioned on some podcast (MMA Roasted, maybe) that - for the original date - he was only going to be able to put it in like 4 weeks of training. He'd taken the fight nonetheless. I think an injury had been plaguing him or something. And he had to lose a bunch of weight.

This is an awesome match-up. I want to see both dudes at the height of their powers so badly, specifically I really want Cormier to be able to show what he can do. Yet I sort of anticipate that Cormier won't be in top condition. He has injuries still and he has many other obligations in broadcasting. My worry is the fight is not going to reflect the match-up this is on paper, DC won't be fit & healthy.

I also think Jones is going to attack DC's knees immediately and that striking-wise this is a terrible match-up. Cormier's incredibly smart, he'll develop on approach. But he's not going to be able to do his boxing thing with JJ stomping that knee.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

DC is such a killer, but I just can't shake the idea that I think Jones is going to run through him. Logically, that shouldn't happen, but I can't seem to picture it going any other way.

There will be a hole in the cage after this fight and a search team with those helmets with the flashlights strapped to them looking for Jones underneath whatever casino they are fighting in.

Lost some respect for Jon after seeing this. There's playing up a villain role like Chael and Conor do, and then there's being two-faced and fake. Hope DC wins this.

UFC with short-term thinking, quickly becoming the norm. Make the current best fighter in the world look fake and not likable. And not in a heel type of way, just in a douchy type of way.

Whatever it takes to sale this fight, with no thought towards promoting him in the future. They already basically called him a coward after the 151 debacle.
