Some good stuff on here. Main event is probably the best fight they've put on since Aldo vs. Mendes, maybe longer. To be fair, that was like a month ago, but there have also been 3 events since then, including a PPV.

It feels like 5 years since I've seen Matt Wiman fight. I didn't miss him. I didn't not miss him either, I guess.

Barbosa vs Green will be fun.

I don't really like how the ufc handles the flyweight division. Nobody wants to see Mouse beat JoBe again. Dodson is out, Lineker can't make weight. They are already scraping the bottom of the barrel with a guy like Cariaso. Ortiz is a guy who could potentially challenge for the title, I hate the idea of killing him off just like Makovsky recently got killed off.

Right. And all you hear about is how there are no stars and that these guys cant draw, when they aren't given a chance.

A guy like Cariaso goes from the prelims to a PPV main event. I legitimately couldn't have picked him out of a lineup. And it's a surprise when the PPV tanks?

The matchmaking is also pretty terrible, as you mentioned. Protecting guys on the way to the title is an issue with another side, and my own views are often inconsistent, but if they did a better job promoting the division as a whole, it wouldn't be such a problem.

that should be a good fight as well but still a sizeable "if" on beating Frankie though. So if Frankie wins what happens?

I still wanna see that Pettis/Aldo matchup btw.

I'm not a huge fan, but you have to give props to Bobby Green here. Recently beat Josh Thomson, and Barbosa is a super dangerous fight relative to his ranking. Green could have easy pulled a Woodley/Rory and said "nah I'm good" when faced with the prospect of fighting a vicious striker who wasn't as highly ranked, instead he is going to be fighting a dude who can KO anyone in the division who is a step back rankings wise.

I think if Cub wins, then Cub will fight Aldo sometimes in March or April. Conor is fighting in late January. Then he can wait a couple of months on the sidelines probably (if he beats Siver which he should), and get ready to face the winner of Cub vs. Aldo. With the streak Cub is on, he absolutely deserves the next title shot with a win on Saturday. No doubt about it.
