The UFC losing money has to be the story.

That got almost no discussion here for whatever reason.

I think Lawler's career resurgence was one of the great stories of the year. One of the great individual stories in MMA history quite possibly.

But that's a micro level story.

As far as a macro one, I gotta go with the Reebok deal, because that might turn the MMA landscape on its head, and contribute to losing the UFC more money than they did this year in the long run.

This lawsuit could be it, but we have to see where it goes.

For now, Reebok.

Had no idea it was that bad.

Also, it appears that there's no Canadian tv partner for 2015 (link is from October, maybe it's changed) and they closed the UFC China offices.

The boring guy who is the ufc representative for Canada said the TV deal will be done this week. Those things usually come down to the last minute for whatever reason, so I'm thinking no issue there.

There is another article though that basically says the Fertitta's have been taking all the revenue from the ufc in order to keep station casinos afloat. I could probably find it after work but it seemed kind of sketchy.

Wouldn't surprise me... from what I can gather about their current gaming set up, they're wrapped in deeply with Boyd, which is taking a rinse on a stalled multi-billion dollar project in Vegas. CET is in trouble... yeah, not a good time to be in gaming.

I have no idea what any of that means.
