I'm really excited to see Showtime fight again. Hopefully he looks better than ever.

It sucks man. Bern and I are lumped together for both being from Milwaukee, but we actually disagreed and argued a ton. But he is a knowledgeable dude who was active on the board. Lots of guys who were regulars just a year or three ago are gone now, but I just can't bring myself to post on sherdog or something lol.

He just takes himself too seriously. We all get **** on at one time or another, I thought G-Sot would be triangling his way into the hall of fame by now. It comes with having opinions/bias etc.

Yea IDK. It was pretty rough around here for a few days, although I see what you're saying. I'm still here.

Regardless of all that, all I'm saying is...at the end of the day it sucks that we lost a contributor to the forum.

I hope Bern is at least still reading and will reappear at some point. Like RZ says, he was a big time contributor to the board, and when you lose one out of like ten, it hurts.

On the other hand, it is kind of funny. I maintain that it's kind of creepy and weird to be so devoted to one other man in an individual sport, and when it comes to making up part of your identity, not just online but in real life, well, we're seeing what happens.

Anyway, decent card. Still not crazy about Dillashaw/Barao II, but it makes more sense now than it did immediately after.

Pettis vs. Jury makes sense in some ways, but the loser (probably Jury) is going to have a tough time coming back. I don't know that I see it being particularly good, is the other problem.

Tate vs. Eye. Whatever. Would be better to avoid picking off a potential challenger for Rousey, but it's not like people are going to be getting on the Jessica Eye bandwagon in that scenario. Rousey is just killing time until they can make a fight with Cyborg. It almost doesn't matter who she fights, I'll still watch.

I can't speak for him at all but I think you are overestimating the effect it had. He still posts on other boards on this site and seems fine.

Glad to hear that, and you're right, I'm probably overestimating, but just going off what I can see. I don't actually think he's just become a shut in because his favourite fighter lost, but to stop doing something you presumably enjoy because of some external event is still kinda extreme IMO.

I get maybe he just doesn't want to deal with hearing about it every time he posts here, and it was pretty bad for a while, but I'd like to think we're past that point by now. At least when it comes to other things. When Pettis fights, it's bound to come up.

Bern is a really good poster, I think he contributed a lot. I hope he comes back. Genuinely. It's not the same.

The internet can be pretty rough. And I doubted that you would take a UFC fight in surrogate for CM Punk.

Consider that retracted. Tough as nails. :P

I'm a wimp in general but I'd fight Jon Jones for the money CM Punk will make vs some amateur mma guy this year.

edited: don't want to derail.

I think it was more than his favorite fighter lost. His favorite fighter broke his orbital and received a concussion in the first round, and then received four more rounds of brain damage, in a state with the loosest PED testing, against an opponent he suspects of using, in an organization that does lots of sketchy things. Plus he was really upset that they booked Sergio on the same card. Also, his NBA team is doing much better than anyone expected after the Jabari injury and is now in the NBA playoffs, so he's probably paying more attention than that. Machida is one of my favorite fighters but I care a hell of a lot more about watching the Bulls game on Saturday than Machida's fight. I'll bet he'll be posting here again before Pettis fights.

What's weirder is we lost Gold Chain because Cowboyronnie talked a little trash.

Goldchain, Bern, and just in general the dudes who have reduced their posting frequency...

Thinking about this, has anyone ever left this board that cbr didn't run off? Is that all of our fates? To be chased off as cbr asserts himself as the alpha male of the board? And at the end he can sit on a throne of empty threads...

Nah, man, that's not what I want. It's unintentional, people can't hang. Nothing but love, no ill will.

LOL what a cluster. Khabib makes fun of Pettis for being injured always...tears his acl out for a year, then gets a meniscus injury. Pettis smack talks back and is now injured himself.

IDK if it makes too much sense for Nate to talk though, didn't his entire team including him and his hero Gil duck Khabib at one point? He's also .500 this decade so maybe he should consider pulling out of fights more often.

Barboza is a pretty good replacement.
