Holm is not ready.

Yeah, this is gross.

I'd actually prefer the Tate fight, which is saying something.

I just hate how the ufc doesn't know how to build prospects. Long-term I think Holm is a viable challenger. Why waste her? She's not there yet.

WTF is the UFC doing? Holm isn't ready, this will be another quick one for Rousey. I'd rathe see Rousey/Tate 3, 4 and 5 before this. lol

It's just not the time for this fight, it'll be another quick one.

The thing that sucks is that Holm could theoretically be at least a challenge for Rousey down the down a year or so. She just needs more experience, she has less than 10 mma fights.

She has good boxing but also good kicking, so she could do a better job of keeping Rousey at a distance than many of her other opponents. Although I will say that Rousey has shown she has no problem with taking a punch to get her clinch and I'm not sure Holm has the power to stun her or end it.

Otherwise though, has a Holm fight ever hit the ground? I didn't watch much of her except for gifs of her finishes prior to her ufc debut (cammo may know better) but has she ever been on the ground for even one second ever in a fight?

Bethe calling out Meisha now due to this. IMO try to get Cyborg to fight Meisha on this card.

Bethe is just annoying to me at this point. If I never saw her fight or tweet or anything again, I'd be fine with that. STFU, you WWEd your way to a title shot.

I've only seen her last 3 or 4 fights, I don't recall it ever going to the ground.

They are hoping to put Joanna/Gadelha here too.

At least Holm is an actual fighter and not just some hobbyist like her last opponent.

She's not ready, but she will last longer than her last 4 opponents combined (not saying much lol).

You think she will last that long? I'm thinking a 45 second affair. Ronda will bully her into the clinch, take the fight to the mat, and rip her arm off.

Always had mad respect for Holly Holm but she hasn't looked that great and I don't see Ronda respecting her striking or power.

I have no idea who this Holm is. I have to dig. The thing about Rousey is that she *seems* to be one of those fighters who needs to hate their opponent to get supremely motivated. That was easy to do when she was on the rise to the top, and then...Bethe...

Who knows? This Holm chick may last longer than the rest just because Rousey sitting high on her perch doesn't hate her enough, doesn't even consider her enough.

I don't really agree with the notion that she hasn't looked good though. Granted she didn't look great in her debut (her first ufc fight and 8th mma fight ever was a ufc ppv co-main, think nerves could have played a factor?). Her last fight though she looked fine, technical, good kicks and punches and probably landed 2-2.5 times more strikes than her opponent over three rounds.

That said, just like Ronda she fought a f*cking hobbyist, a schoolteacher who fights on the side. This division is just so terrible. I think it was James Vick who tweeted about how in that division you win two fights and get a title shot, while he is undefeated and has won four ufc wins in a row and is ranked like ~40 in his division. Bulltalk is right when he said Cyborg or bust.

They know exactly what they are doing, they are giving her another fight that she's almost guaranteed to win so the media and the casual fan will be fawning all over her. It's like mid 80s Hulk Hogan in the WWF except the ufc is not supposed to be scripted.

Meh. Until they can get Cyborg, they have to cook up a story to sell. Rousey/Tate 3 is a harder pitch than an undefeated, accomplished boxer. Plus, Tate probably doesn't get knocked off and they still have that in their pocket.
