Can you even imagine what a sh*tshow this has probably been? TBH, and I realize the irony here, but the only thing I can imagine being worse than being around a bunch of mma fighters for a whole weekend is being around a bunch of mma fans for the same amount of time.

Mind-boggling.
This isn't a typo or human error, this is management and relations people being greedy/miserly and having no awareness of PR or the atmosphere on the ground.
Athletes from other sports are swimming in gear. Athletes in MMA were swimming in gear before Reebook. Now Reebok is congratulating themselves on their generosity giving a discount (50% off of online purchases at regular price will still mean Reebok will make sig money off of every purchase), expecting the fighters are going to be thankful, and unaware of the attitude fighters already have towards them (in the age of social media).
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Its interesting to me that Mouse prefers to fight Borg over Dillashaw. Borg is a relative no namer who has missed weight multiple times in the last year or two. I don't see the draw of that fight.

Dillashaw has never made 125, so that's not safer than Borg from that perspective. Mouse vs. Borg is a PPV co-main or Fox headliner. If Mouse vs. TJ is a PPV headliner, it gets what 150,000 buys? Also he's said he likes getting paid upfront instead of points (because he doesn't get enough buys to make money that way probably). I don't think he'd get paid more for TJ, without a special negotiation.
I think he just wants the record before a "money" fight. Him fighting the BW for that belt or maybe champion vs. champion at a catch-weight would do better than fighting a beltless TJ at 125.

I just want to see him in a fight that isn't a foregone conclusion.

Makes sense for DJ to secure his record title defense then take on a seriously tough opponent in TJ

Why can't TJ and DJ meet at the middle at 130 and have it be a non-title fight? I'd still want to see that.

Would be awesome, but that's not a thing.

What does a title defense record even mean if you make sure you fight lesser competition to secure it before fighting a title challenger that has a better chance of beating you?
It's all good, but Mouse should quit whining about not getting the reapect or pay he thinks he "deserves" when you're that selective.

The only good thing about the Reebok deal is that they are now 3 years into their 6 year deal.
It will very interesting to see how this negotiated in the future.
Part of me believes that the only reason the UFC did this was because they knew they were selling and wanted to add 70 million to their bottom line of profitability for investors to see. Aside from the 'makes us more legitimate' argument, it's the only one i sort of can believe.
Hopefully with how much flak they've received, in a few years they will renegotiate a much better contract.
70 million for the entire roster over 6 years is pathetic. Connor alone should be looking at an individual deal worth that amount,
and they should be leveraging his name to build a brand under their corporate umbrella .

NY added it to their rules that while weighing in you can't make physical contact with anything other than the scale. The DC rule if you will. (Getting the weight exact with his grab was some expert level stuff).

It should be something that should never happen regardless. As incompetent as most commissions are, the NYSAC is the very worst. Its so expensive to run shows there that literally only the UFC (and one WSOF show) have actually done events, so they just don't have the experience in running shows and literally have to "practice" on UFC title fights lol. Its ridiculous.

So the UFC signed a 33 year old who's 0-1 in MMA, will be fighting at LHW. Gokhan Saki, an accomplished kickboxer. I wonder if he'll be on that Dana White's Tuesday fightpass thing, either way I guess they have to sign more prospects so he can fight somebody.

He's a world class kickboxer. Not sure how much he's cross-trained, but I'm interested to see him fight.
