This is a thing...

That would be weak for an FS card. Looks like a Fight Pass offering.

Maybe they think Holly Holm is some kind of superstar now.

Barboza vs. Melendez is interesting though. Should show us if Barboza is actually that good or just got a favourable matchup vs Pettis, or if Melendez is still among the elite. I suppose Barboza could win and the narrative would be "yeah, but Gil is washed up." Will depend on how they look in the fight, I guess.

I really don't see anything else of interest on here.

It's weird that it's on big Fox, with Rogan and the full works.

Shevchenko is a serious athlete.

I did not know that Francis Ngannou had already had 2 UFC fights. I used to be able to at least recognize the name of every such person.

Edson Barboza is the favorite -200
Gilbert Melendez is the underdog +165

Should be a good fight.

Barboza's kicks...dear lord. It's like watching JCVD kicking trees in blood sport

I love watching Holly Holm. I hope she gets the next title fight if she wins this. That would be a battle.

I think I have it 1-1 in the Holm fight so far

I think I have 2-2 going into the 5th, but this tough to call. Someone needs to secure a KO to ensure a win

Shevchenko needs the 125 class.

Ya, she's a beast, but she looks so small compared to Holly.

Crazy how mma works. Holm absolutely dominates Rousey, not even a competitive fight.

Since then she is 0-2, finished by Meisha and then beaten handily by a 125er.

Hm I think I had it 4-1 Shevchenko, just seemed to be half a second ahead for most of the fight.

It's almost like Holm is who we thought she was before the Rousey fight. Does make the Rousey fight even crazier. Just no planning from Rousey not even a plan A-1, let alone a plan B.

All the media scores for Shevchenko so far, 49-46, except one 48-47.

Ya, I had it 3-2 for her, but could easily have seen it 4-1. Definilty don't have an issue with the judging, it was tough to call. Like I said, pure volume and aggression, vs significant strikes and accuracy. The latter wins, but sometimes the judges lean towards the former.

How old is Holm? I thought I remember her being slightly old. Wondering if she's going to be around much longer.
*edit* 34, so not too old... But then again, that might be old for women's mma. It seems age is harder on lighter weights than it is on heavier ones,

But she also had had nothing but duds in the UFC prior. She's had one real success.

As mentioned, just accents how bad Ronda's gameplan / execution was. The only time Holly has looked a world-beater and the only time Ronda has looked beatable. Meaning, Holly rose and Ronda descended the same night.

Don't forget, her management dragged out the negotiations with the UFC for yeeears. She might well be making a mint and maybe it was ultimately worth it but she now looks really bedraggled in there and might not have too much longer.

Super bound-up and lacking agility. The only person more stiff is Hendo.

Holly would crack & shatter into a thousand pieces if she tried any of those drills that Shevchenko is going in the above open work-out.
