I'll watch the fight tonight since I didn't get to watch it live but I always kind of thought that barring a quick KO, Colby just wouldn't let any striker, strike with him. So in a way, it makes a Usman kind of interesting. Hell, even a match up with another high level (and somewhat boring) grappler in Askren interesting. Colby's done a great job in creating this almost Mayweather-esque heel where people will buy his fight just to see him get beat and thus far no one has been able to give him that beating in recent years.

I hate Colby, largely because of his style and also because of the comments he's made in the past but man, I'm honestly intrigued by his next fight now assuming it's against Usman

Non-threadworthy UFC Events Thread

Cruz is too dry and out of sync with his broadcast mates. I don't get the Felder support inside the industry. He's also surprisingly bland for someone who was a theater major and his analysis is very basis.

Jimmy Smith had the best combo of personality and analysis. It at least rivaled Cormier's and Hardy's. And they need more than a couple. Still a head-scratching release to this day. I guess they are throwing bones to former fighters so they can pay them less in the cage.

Yup. Jimmy Smith was one the best and he carried those shows with the most bland of cookie cutter commentators with Brendan Fitzgerald.

Cruz also takes himself way too seriously. Even Anik tried lighting up the mood but he’s so stubborn, and it isn’t enjoyable. DC is the best because he can crack loose and provide analysis. Those are the best kind.

Felder isn’t so bad, but he does nothing for me. Although I find he fits in real nice with Hardy and Gooden, who are by far the best duo in MMA for commentators. Americans couldn’t handle two Brits doing the major cards tho. Lol

Mike Perry has the worst broken nose I've ever seen. Wow.

Super entertaining fight.

Man this China card is so bad it kinda feels like its two weekends in a row without any UFC :/

And that Abu Dhabi one is pretty crap too apart from maybe 2-3 fights...

I don't think I'm even gonna bother watching and it's also at a TOTALLY unreasonable unacceptable time slot.

Edit: For watching live that is. If your on/in the East Coast.

Bisping: Zhang can NOT stand in the pocket vs Andrade.

The next strike by Zhang less than half a second later from the pocket leads to the KTFO victory by Zhang.

Yeah, they had no idea what she would do. They were talking about kicking rnage.

Zhang was backing up, sitting at the perfect distance to counter those wild, wide punches of Andrade. That takes real know-how and skill. To sit in a slinger's range and hit that with straight punches.

That is the best striking I've seen in WMMA. Even better than Rose, better than Shevchenko (obv better than JJ, who ain't ****). An undisciplined bull got countered perfectly.

I've literally seen grappling matches the weren't supposed to contain strikes with straighter punches than Duffee/Hughes are throwing (lol). Everything so looping and sloppy. HW MMA everyone.

Duffee is the most kill or be killed fighter in the sport.

I think Duffee gassed and wanted out of that fight. That was one ugly fight for how short it was.

But like 4 guys with legit eye tests told me that GSP is a drug cheat. And they have good intuition according to them.

I bet Glover thinking this wouldn't be a competitive fight. Ended up a split decision victory which is pretty close to what the odds dictated although Glover was technically underdog at my book. That's an example why I don't bet MMA anymore. Lol.

How old is his son? I've got young kids and the worst thing theyve seen is Henny Penny being eaten by Foxy Loxy at the end of Chicken Little. Much less their daddy being KOed by a trained killer at 2 years old.

Yeah I think he should tie them up. He’s made enough money. His brain can’t keep doing this.

He's made enough maybe, but he's probably spent most of it.

I thought Duffee was going to wreck Hughes after getting a few good hits in but man, he gassed out hard and after the eye poke, didn't really seem like he wanted to finish the fight since Hughes wasn't going away.

The Glover fight was somewhat entertaining watching Nikita move around and use his jab to frustrate Glover.

The main event was a little bittersweet. Didn't want to see Cowboy get TKO'd even though I had kind of expected that but it was a fun fight with some nice exchanges. I'd be more excited if the Tony/Khabib fight is already booked because I feel like that's the fight that NEEDS to happen and the division cannot move on until the fight takes place.

Who here believes the eye test is enough? Not me, for the 1000th **** time.
