Bisping being champ would be the biggest upset in any year.

Garbrandt is pretty close - I really didn't give him much chance at all, but I think it's Bisping.

Philosophical question - if you would pick the guy again in a rematch (Cody) is it still as big an upset in hindsight as a guy you wouldn't (Bisping)?

I think anything that happens past the original fight shouldn't change the context of the original fight. For example, Holm beating Rousey was a huge upset, and just because I'd take Holm to beat her again doesn't make that any more of a shocking result IMO. Though I could definitely see the argument that if you'd pick the upset winner again, maybe the result wasn't an upset as much as you were just not informed.

The conditions surround Bisping's KO makes it the biggest upset imo. Dude came straight off a movie set to avenge a brutal loss and actually KO's Rockhold despite having the reputation for a lack of power.

Cody is a very close second with his ability to stand calm against Dom and execute the teams game plan. He had so many opportunities to finish the fight but was composed enough to make sure he secured the victory. Most fans and analysts were already looking ahead to Dom's next title defense against Tj/Lineker.

Cody was close but he is also younger, more athletic and that's less impressive than a much older Bisping KO'ing a younger and in his prime, Rockhold

I'd have to say bisping just because that's easily the most unlikely.

That said, a healthy dom is easily one of the best p4p fighters out there. Any win over him has to be an upset at this point

For me, it comes down to decisiveness. As said above bisping KO'd Rockhold. Garbrandt won a decision
