UFC has been marketing this card as having Silva as recently as last week with Silva publicly saying he doesn't have a fight. No he's saying he's officially off the card. Are they going to refund the Brazilian fans who bought to watch him fight?

I'm guessing that was a rhetorical question?

This should have been a FOX card, definitely not PPV worthy.

How do you guys feel about this fight? I think Aldo might be the better fighter, but I think stylistically and timing wise, this might favor Max. Both guys are better anti-grapplers than grapplers, and I think Max's slick boxing is going to overcome Aldo's muay thai.

My only feelings on this fight are that it sucks that its surrounded by such garbage because there's no way I'm buying or going out to watch this one for the sake of a single fight. :(

I want so badly to pick Max, but I just can't get over the last Aldo/Edgar fight in which Aldo just blew me away.

It's stupid that they drug test for weed, but at the same time I'm not allowed to smoke weed, and I'd have to kick out a subordinate who failed a drug test. It's really not that hard to not smoke weed after you sign a contact saying you won't smoke weed and if you test positive you will face punishment.

If they tested weed in the NBA, half the teams would fold.

They do test for weed in the NBA, but players can only be drug tested twice during a season, so players smoke weed in the offseason and smoke weed during the season after their 2nd drug test.

Thing is they are allowed to use weed, just not during the competition window. And the drug tests that are used aren't reliable for determining when you used it.

You're not wrong, but with the saturation of so many events, it's really a lot tougher to find true PPV cards. Regardless, Aldo vs. Max is definitely worthy of headlining a PPV. We finally get to see a legit title fight.... At least the FS1 portion of the card looks good too.

Honestly Claudia is worthy of the co-main and Karolina has some star power going for herself.

Borrachinha - Bambose should be a war, Belfort's "final" UFC fight is always interesting and Erick Silva is a great young prospect.

I'll absolutely watch this online.

Yeah, that main card, sans main event, is FS1 worthy. The 2nd best fight on the card is the prelim headliner in Moraes-Assuncao. Only two fights I care to comment on are the aforementioned ones.

I gotta think Aldo takes out Max pretty comfortably here, provided Aldo doesn't get caught up in the machismo and brawl. He's faster and can more dictate position.

Assuncao-Moraes will probably be Assuncao's typical fight that's technical with him sharp countering leading to a close result. I'll give the edge though to Moraes on leg kicks, getting him to flinch on feints first instead of counter enough times. Moraes moves his head/feet enough and has excellent feints. The octagon jitters can be the almighty neutralizer though.

But if you're head is in the clouds, other people potentially die. In their case they're the only victims. Plus it's useful for pain naturally sustained in their form of combat. So it's really a civil libertarian issue. It's really stupid period they test and punish for weed, especially in 2017.
