He clearly lost to Cerrone and I personally thought he lost to Pettis and probably Gil. Props to him for catching RDA but his fight vs Conor was one of the least competitive fights ever, literally.
I recall Alvarez/Chandler II as a competitive fight, not sure if I agree with the robbery characterization although I do admit I only watched it live.
You know I love Anthony, but I think he lost that fight, unfortunately. Didn't show any heart to fight for unders, got taken down, and didn't get enough of his offense off, outside 1 rd. And I don't think you could score the Melendez fight for Gil.
Here are the media splits of the fights in question:
Alvarez-Melendez: 16 to 0 Melendez (29-28 Alvarez was really the only way to score that, controlled fight after eye swelled)
Alvarez-Pettis: 9 to Pettis, 1 draw, 8 to Alvarez (so really they thought could have gone either way, I thought Alvarez')
Chandler-Brooks: 5 to Chandler, 6 draw, 1 Brooks (so Chandler or draw)
Chandler-Henderson: 7 to 0 Chandler (pretty decisive win for Chandler vs. the former ufc champ)
Chandler-Alvarez 2: 10 to 3 Chandler (competitive, but Chandler won)
And fwiw, he dominated the 1st rd against Cerrone, before succumbing to octagon jitters + adrenaline dump probably. He's been a very competitive fighter w/ the top of the ufc lw division, outside the GOAT. He was competitive w/ Chandler too, but he deserved to lose to him twice, as only seems to happen to Alvarez against the very top guys. That's real validation for Chandler, but his resume doesn't stop there anyway as aforementioned.
