Great fight... why not celebrate it a little bit in the main forum?

Good viewpoint... although I disagree.
I got canelo 7-5 decision but just like you said it'll be close. Might be one of those fights where you could feel like either guy one.
I hope the fight ends with closure though.... I don't want any rematches to happen or anything. For some reason I don't really like rematches in boxing unless it's due to improper judging.

The only reasons why Canelo is given a chance are because of his name and that the fight is in Vegas.
I respect Canelo, which is why I don't see him getting KO'd, but I don't think it'll be close at all. GGG will control Canelo with his jab and wear him down in the late rounds. Some say it will be a late stoppage, but I think Canelo will hold on to finish.
8-4 or 9-3 for GGG.

Ggg to me is someone who's been matched perfectly up until this point.... he's done what he supposed to but when you match guys against their strengths you'll see them struggle.
Not to say hell totally struggle vs canelo but this fight will make him look more normal then we've ever seen him.

More normal than in his last fight against a bigger and stronger Jacobs? Canelo lacks the speed and size, two advantages Jacobs had over GGG.
I haven't seen anything from Canelo to make believe he could beat GGG. His last opponents were either too old, too small or weight drained.

Yeah more normal then Jacobs.
Jacobs fought the way ggg match makers like ggg opponents to fight. Which is in retreating manner so GGG can fight downhill. Only difference is danny had way more punching power then anyone ggg has ever faced.
Lemieux and Stevens both have power but they been beat up before and are 1 dimensionally offensively.... Canelo has supreme confidence and a very diverse offense and good defense also.

Jacobs made GGG cautious and even hurt him to the body a couple of times.
It sounds like you have money on Canelo lol. Let's hope you're right, for your sake. Canelo will be making a big mistake if he thinks he can just lay on the ropes and counter GGG.

Can't stand how Canelo gave Floyd way to much respect when they fought. He basically laid down for Floyd.

PhilBlackson wrote:Such a tough one to pick just because GGG hasn't looked himself the last couple of fights, I would love to think it was done so intentionally in order to get Canelo to finally stop ducking him but I doubt it.
It's pretty well known that GGG beat Canelo silly when they trained together but that was also a physically primed GGG and an relatively inexperienced (at the highest levels) Canelo. My gut says GGG and my mind/logic says Canelo based on age and technique. If I was held at gunpoint and forced to pick I'd say Canelo just because he should be able to use his speed, boxing skills and ring generalship to dictate the majority of the fight....but one GGG punch is all it takes for it to start going downhill and here's hoping it does since I hate when boxers wait for the "right time" to fight a guy.

I don't think he laid down. I just think he was thrown in with Mayweather too early in his career.

By laying down, I mean he was in awe of Floyd and didn't come at him. He was completely non aggressive the entire fight. You might be right that he was to young, but guys like Mike Tyson never let being young matter.
