Mouthwatering card for the fans, alienating card for the casuals.

We'll see what Jacare has left in the tank. We'll see if Brunson can continue improving. Their first fight is a classic first round KO.

Gregor Gillespie is the one to watch on this card. 2 more wins & he's a legit contender. They're real high on this dude. Elite Folkstyle guy with nasty submissions. Reminds me of a more athletic Weidman.

Fili/Bermudez could be a blanket fest or could be a war.

Green/Koch has FOTN written all over it.

It's going on right now on FS1, then transfers over to Fox. In the midst of 3 straight chick fights. Yuck. And they bump the likes of Niko Price and LFA standout Cory Sandhagen. I'd really like to have seen them. UFC needs to pare down the ladies down into one division and about 20 fighters. They derail cards this way.

For sure, the downside to this card is the plethora of female fights. Bleh.

Still, from Bektic/Pepey upwards, all potential wars. And an elite up & comer in Gillespie.

Plus, an all-time great potentially proving he still belongs at the top of the sport. Keep in mind, had he not been hugely upset by Whittaker, Jacare would likely be rematching Rockhold for the title. A win over Brunson puts him right back up there.

Good fight between Koch and Green. Good basic striking, but not seeing the adjustments by Koch. Where is the uppercut with Green continually dropping his head, and the high kick after all the body kicks?

Terrifying in top position. Guy looked like prime Hughes in there!

Give him a decent step up, but still bring him along slowly. His striking is still pretty raw, but his wrestling is just incredible.

Anyone else not a fan of Dominic Cruz's commentating? IMO, he talks way too much and doesn't exude any emotion. Way too boring for me.

Ratings were down a bit for this compared to last years card. Last years card had Hick Diaz, Cowboy, Masvidal, Ngannou, Arlovski and Shevchenko.

Miocic vs. Ngannou must watch, DC was a squash match and every other fight was bleh on the main card
Stephens/Choi (bleh)
Cyborg/Holm (no chance of Cyborg losing and Holm was too good to be squashed so that wasn't fun)
Lawler/Dos Anjos (RDA is a monster so I guess that's cool)
Swanson/Ortega (I wasn't into it then Ortega won, which builds him into something interesting)
Aldo/Halloway 2 (literally the same fight as the first and was pretty obvious that would happen)
Bisping/Kevin G (Bisping literally just fought a month before, **** up)
Werdum/Tybura (why waste Werdum's time)
Porier/Pettis (nah)
Bisping/GSP + Cody/TJ + Thug Rose/Joanna (good but also **** everything up even further in 185)
Machida/Brunson (Machida's last win was over CB Dalloway in 2014)
Cerone/Till (built Till up, great work here)
Ferguson/Lee (Lee wasn't ready and never felt like he had any heat behind him, not sure why this was the fight to make, DJ/Borg was a masterful moment)
OSP/Okami (who the **** cares about Okami, but he was last minute replacement for Shogun who I also do not care to see fight ever again)
Rockhold/Branch (ROCKHOLD finally gets a fight again, thank god)
Nunes vs. Shevchenko 2 (great fight)
Volkov vs. Struve (I literally don't care)
Little Pettis vs Moreno (Little Pettis isn't capable of carrying a card)

DC/Jones 2

That's like 20 main events, most were absolute ****, Miocic/Ngannou was interesting, GSP came back and now he's like dying or some ****, Till and Ortega are interesting young guys, Nunes beat up the best 125er in the world, Ferguson should have fought somebody else and it turns out Yushin Okami is still fighting.

Looking at it like this, the UFC is in some serious trouble.

The best times for the UFC in terms of talent was right after buying PRIDE, right after buying Strikeforce and them absorbing the WEC. Since absorbing Strikeforce, they really haven't had a huge influx of talent.

HW is a mess. Literally everybody outside of Francis & Stipe are 38+ and extremely chinny and then there's Cain who's broken. DC coming in could be good for his legacy but say he wins, that destroys both the HW and LHW divisions until he retires or Jones comes back.
LHW is all DC until Gus comes back. Nobody else matters in that division now...unless Jones comes back.
MW is a mess. Bisping was literally champion for way too long without fighting anybody and lost to a WW. Rockhold wasn't fighting enough, Bobby Knuckles just kind of came out of nowhere, Jacare and Romero are super old and Weidman lost to Gegard who freaking left.
WW is a mess. Rory can rightfully claim the top spot here (or Askren) because he beat Woodley. Woodley's about to fight a Diaz or freaking Colby?
LW is the nicest mess they've got. Khabib, Tony and Connor need to have a tournament here this year to get this division sorted out. Plenty of talent coming up.
145 is fine
135 is super fine, no stupid stuff here
125 is fine, just need to get Cejudo back in the cage with Mighty Mouse or if he can make it, get TJ down here for a super fight. Mighty Mouse has earned that.

I don't like him either. He says the same things over and over. I'd like to see a rotating two-some of Anik, Rogan, and Jimmy Smith.

Despite being a bjj nerd, I don't think I've ever rooted for Jacare in any fight except against Romero (and to lulz as he strangled Camozzi time and time again). But it was good to see him get a win here, especially since I didn't really agree with all the USADA accusations that came in because he lost to Robert Whitaker lol. 4-2 since USADA and I actually thought he deserved the nod against Romero.

Gotta love the UFC hype machine. Yeah, Mighty Mouse's win versus Ray Borg was absolutely masterful. Ray Borg, the guy who got outclassed horribly by Scoggins. Can't wait to see this guy get smashed up by the best p4p guy walking.

Shogun is riding a three fight winning streak including a dominant win over Villante. Who wouldn't be interested in seeing him fight again?

Stephens/Choi was bleh? Perhaps as a main event, but Choi is a bright young star & Stephens is rarely in boring fights.

"No chance" of Cyborg losing to Holm....oh geez

I love how RDA is now a monster, but prior to the fight, hardly anyone had him as a favourite & rightfully so. Lawler is the monster, and a good portion of that fight was dos Anjos avoiding huge power shots in order to tire Rob out.

Lee was booked to fight Ferguson because the UFC is a joke organization that is dependent on pro rasslin tactics. Had he won, casuals would undoubtedly be touting him as a "monnstahhh" & future champ.

Cerrone/Till was incredibly sloppy booking. Had Till lost, it would have de-railed him completely & had Cerrine lost, it would have ruined whatever momentum Cerrone had left. They lucked out by having Till look so dominant.

Wow, that's crazy. Not only is he probably the greatest BJJ practicioner to have ever made the jump, but he's the most explosive & entertaining to watch as well. Not some noodly non-athlete a la Maia/Werdum. He's got pop & fast twitch fiber.
