Je-sus. That's so much violence. A lot of fights on the main could go one-way too.

Please please please stay healthy and keep Conor away from their busses. This card is insanely stacked.

IM psyched for this card.

Who do people have, Stipe or DC?

I’m really torn.

I lean Stipe mainly due to DC being old.

Havent been torn on a championship fight like I have for this one. These are 2 of my favorite fighters to root for, then when it comes to the fight inside of the cage, I really dont know whats going to happen. Im leaning Stipe but I dont know why I am.

I’m leaning stipe too. DC is smaller, older and hasn’t fought HW in awhile.
But who knows

I'm leaning DC because I think he's a great fighter who happens to be able to compete at HW, and Stipe is a good HW.

Several of my biases are in play here though. I think the HW division is stupid and the fights are largely meaningless. I acknowledge Stipe is good, but don't quite understand what makes him elite. I admittedly oversimplify fighters and matchups at times, and this is probably one of them, because I think DC is better in every facet of MMA, besides KO power and being tall.

So, Stipe will probably win, possibly cementing himself as the greatest HW ever (a claim I think is thoroughly ridiculous) and I'll still be here trying to figure out why he's good.

I'm excited for the fight though, and the rest of the card looks good too.

Stipe has a good jab and more struggled against longer strikers. Daniel may have trouble getting inside to strike. But that jab isn't going to put away Daniel (it took a head kick by roided up JBJ), and gotta figure if Daniel gets underneath him, Stipe is going for a ride. No subs, moderate ground and pound. More will score and wear out Stipe. The later rounds Daniel should win on cardio. Feel like that will carry him to close decision.

As for T-City, you know I love his ability to have those brilliant moments. But I think Max is a smart fighter, in spite of the past wild west duels against select fighters. T-City grabbing his neck or sending him to the moon has to put a healthy fear in him. Think he'll use footwork, jab, leg kicks, and T-City will never get home. Hope I'm wrong and Max doesn't play it safe because that will make for a disappointing fight entertainment-wise.

The under-card I have a tough time envisioning not be entertaining.

On Ariel's show, Ariel asked both DC and Stipe their anticipated weight for this fight and DC estimated 245 and Stipe estimated 240. It'd be hilarious if DC came in as the bigger man.

This sucks.

Hope someone else can step in but doubt Ortega wants to lose his #1 contender status should he lose.

That statement here: https://mmajunkie.com/2018/07/max-holloway-withdraws-ufc-226-concussion-like-symptom

“Max’s team and UFC staff noticed Max was not normal since late last week. This became obvious to many watching his interviews and public appearances the past few days.

“He was showing concussion-like symptoms before he even started his weight cut and was rushed to the ER on Monday where they admitted him overnight. Initial scans seemed okay, and he was released Tuesday afternoon, but symptoms still continued.

“Max fought with his team to continue with the fight. He showed some improvement over the next day but was still showing obvious symptoms. After open workouts, he crashed and was very hard to wake up. When he did, he had flashing vision and slurred speech.

“He is now back in the ER for further tests.”

Sounds pretty scary. Bummed to lose that fight, but sounds like his career could be in jeopardy, if not his life (or at least the quality of it).

Man that is hard to read. Max is a young dude, I hope he steps away for a little bit and gets this all figured out and gets truly healthy before he returns.

Crashing after the open workouts and being hard to wake up and slurred speech. Showing weird signs before his cut is also very concerning, so it doesn't sound like it's just a bad reaction to a hard cut. Sounds like something else might be wrong. He's one of my favorite fighters, I hope the dude gets healthy.

He could be done. Look at TJ Grant, he never recovered and was in line for a title shot at the time.

That sucks on all sorts of levels.
