Seems like something you should't be allowed to do to independent contractors.

Anyone else bummed knowing that Tony vs JG means that khabib vs whoever loses won’t happen?

Unless Khabib goes up to 170, which isn’t happening, there’s only three fights for him. Tony, Justin and Conor, this eliminates one, so it’s down to those Tony/Justin and Conor.
Then he probably retires.

I wish I could just make Gaethje/Conor and Ferguson/Khabib... then the two winners fight, and the two losers fight.

Why are they sticking with tony and Justin after 249 got cancelled anyway? Is khabib looking and being stuck in Russia well beyond the ufcs planned start up date?

Ramadan is from like April 23 to May 23 yeah? So I guess making it by the start is a stretch but why so long after it finishes? Does he usually give himself / need 3 months to recover?

That’s a lot of months out of action each year

He says he needs 45 days to get his body right after the fasting. Then he wants an eight week camp for a fight. That's how it's always pretty much been for him. He usually only fights once or twice a year anyways. So it's never really been a big deal.

**** it, I'd rather see Tony vs JG immediately than hold Tony out for the sure-to-be-cancelled fight with Khabib. God hates that fight. Let's take the hint and stop wasting these dudes' careers.

Plus lets be real, it was never going to be Tony then Gaethje for Khabib. Conor was going to get the title shot after Tony pretty much no matter what. Hell I wouldnt be shocked if we had to wait till August that Dana would crack and somehow find a way to do Conor over Tony.

If Gaethje didnt take this fight he would be looking at sitting till next March-April at best if he was just waiting for a title shot. Also Tony is 36, I wouldnt be shocked if he wants to crank out as many "title" fights as he can while he is still in his prime. He gets the title fight payout boost when he fights for the interim. So the money, plus I doubt Tony enjoys waiting a year + to fight.

But this is all more reason for him to hold for the Khabib fight, he is 36 years old, takes a lot of damage in his fights, is coming off a serious knee injury which despite a win against Pettis, he definitely rushed himself back to return to prove a point. Tony might have a couple fights left at this rate tbh, the Khabib pay day is going to be FAR more than his pay with Gaethje, title and all.

Also, it's pretty crazy how a lot of us are forgetting Tony had some serious mental issues recently ,tearing up the walls in his homes, concerning his wife on a high level, I think at his age, his recent injury history, and the damage he's taken...waiting a year plus is fine for Tony.

But he's not built for it I guess, cutting weight for no reason might be a "tony being tony" sort of thing, but it's awfully stupid. Dehydrating yourself then doing it again shortly after for this upcoming fight, it's nonsense and actually makes me less excited for this JG fight because of what he's putting himself through for no good reason.

JG/Conor and Tony/Khabib is the way to go and the right way to go. Winner gets Khabib, it was a very simple solution.

Also this is wasting Tony's career if anything because instead of getting the dream matchup of his career, now you get Tony taking more damage in a fight you guys only want to see because it's a boring time in the sporting/MMA world. So even if he wins, Tony gets more hurt, and now you have to wait even more longer than initially to get the Khabib fight.

So as of right now is UFC 249 the deepest card we've ever seen? This card is freaking ridiculous and looks like it's going to happen.

Gaethje learned that he was fighting on May 9th from an internet post.

Such a joke. It'd be funny if he told them to f*ck off.

I mean he pretty much has a free pass for turinabol anyway. All of his failed tests just go under the category of "pulsing".

Khabibs dad in the hospital due to pneumonia and flu like
Symptoms.
Sounds like Covid.
You can’t trust Russia, they probably won’t label it Covid even if it is, just to keep it off their books
