Will US sanctions against Kadyrov for ‘gross violations of human rights’ impact UFC ties?

Prolly not tbh.

And it most certainly won't impact the Khabib/Gaetjhe after party!

DC saying he’s not sure of Khabib will even fight again.

My guess is we are going to get Conor vs JG in October.

Before the Cerrone fight, I had never heard of an opponent on Darren Till's resume. Here is who he has fought since, just ridic:

Cerrone
Wonderboy
Woodley
Masvidal
Gastelum
Whitaker (on deck)

I had not noticed that. Considerign that two of those dudes flatlined him, and he hasn't taken a step backwards competition-wise, it's pretty impressive. Everyone of them has been a champ or near #1 contender status.

(Also, he abandoned his first-born in Brasil.)

If Whittaker is at his best, he should take it - which seems to be most opinions. I really like Till - also the fact he is from Liverpool and a Liverpool fan, but i just don't see him being anything spectacular. I see him as a top 5-12 guy in the next 3-4 years.

That chin-high karate (?) stance that Till has is no good for those crazy level change punches that Whitaker throws, where he covers crazy distance and throws looping hooks blind. But Till has also been thinking about this fight for a damn long time, they've surely adopted a plan and been drilling to counter those shots.

I'm riding my "Whitaker and Romero took too much out of each other in their wars and will never reach their former highs again" theory until the wheels fall off.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Till wins this. Mentally, he is in such a better place right now. He's having a blast, super confident, super game, seems happy to take things as they come. Whereas Robert's been battling depression and has to be doubting whether he has anything left, physically-speaking, at all.

I didn't realize he was retired, but apparently Gustafsson is unretired now.

Last I saw, it looked like he should consider retiring from the buffet (I'm assuming those didn't close down in Sweden).

Dunno if khabib will fight this year after his dads passing but hopefully we see him again at least once vs gaethje before he retires.

Don’t think khabibs beatable. He dominates everyone and he has a great chin. Don’t see Justin or anyone stopping him from “mauling” them.

I don’t mind seeing khabib fight Connor again but I really hope things don’t play out and that’s his next fight.

Khabib is beatable. He just has fought strikers and tomato cans. Everyone is beatable.

Dustin good win, pure striker
RDA good win, 6 years ago, not a wrestler.
Conor good win, year + lay-off after getting 100 mill

Then it’s guys unranked guys like 1-6 zero wrestling Barbosa, 2-6 Michael Johnson (since the Khabib fight)

Tibeau imo beat him in their fight, still have no idea how any judge could score it that way and think it was shady. Even Khabib was shocked.

He’s a great fighter but this idea he’s unbeatable is based on a completely inflated record imo

I did have Tibau beating him, but I think it's safe to say that Khabib is a much better fighter now. I don't think his record is "inflated," so much as it is less complete than we'd like at this point due to his limited fighting schedule as champion. That said I do think Gaethje could potentially be an interesting matchup. And yes, everyone losses eventually, if they fight enough.

It's padded in regards to his legacy, and this idea of how invincible he is. He's in peoples top 5 goat categories. His only name wins have come from guys without any wrestling background and only beat 6 ranked fighters, 3 of whom, imo are chris leban level of meh.

His best wins are:
Dustin P (16-5-1 in the ufc, 5 wins vs ranked fighters)
Connor (10-2 in the ufc, 7 wins vs ranked fighters and 1 win vs Max H)
RDA (17-11 in the ufc, 6 wins vs ranked fighters)

Great wins, props for those.

His other wins are against:

Al Iaquanta (9-5 in the UFC, 1 win vs a ranked opponent)
Barboza (12-9 in the ufc, 2 wins vs ranked opponents)
Michael Johnson (10-12 in the UFC, 1 win vs a ranked opponent, a win against an UR Tony F though)

These guys aren't resume builders.

All the rest of his fights were against unranked journeymen.

I just want to see him tested, and you are lucky to get 1 fight out of him a year, so every missed fight is fist clinching anger lol

You can pick apart anyone's resume. But I'd certainly agree that top 5 all time for Khabib is premature.

Worse than I remembered, all 3 judges had it 30-27. I don't like to go conspiracy, but that's kinda suspicious.

His resume and schedule aren’t the best but that doesn’t really diminish how good he is. Just means he has to do more to get to goat status / conversation.

Sure if he fights forever ( he won’t he’ll retire early) he can and will be beaten. But as he is now there’s no one that can beat him in that division. Hopefully he fights Justin and tony to put this kind of talk to rest.
