So stupid to do this interim title. Francis is on the verge of becoming a superstar and this just dulls that down.
UFC gave Stipe and dc a year between fights and now when Francis is ready he’s gonna have to wait longer for Lewis.

I watched Gane this weekend, I literally don't care about him at all and wish to never see him again, and they're going to give him a title shot off of that. Truly the dumbest timeline.
Also, Ariel leaving ESPN means he's coming out against the UFC a whole lot more. Good.

Francis manager basically come out and said wtf, Francis only fought 3 months ago.
How does this make any sense. Unless it’s a money thing and Dana is being the dog **** that he is

Edit - Ariel also said Francis agreed to fight Lewis on September 25 ( he couldn’t do august) and they went with this fight. What a ****.

I don’t understand why the UFC would make an interim title where they have to give these guys a bigger payday to spite Francis?
I’m not saying they aren’t, I’m just confused on what timeline they want Francis on, and how making an interim title helps.
I thought it was weird the whole time that the UFC and Lewis were saying him vs Francis was a done deal, and Francis wasn’t commenting and it was never made official. Might be more going on with Francis than he’s letting on.

This whole thing is so ridiculous. Usually champs take a couple months off after winning the title to heal up from the grind of the title run + the title fight. If Francis wants to fight in September, that's like six months between fights. Such a joke.

So this is pretty much the crux of the issue, right?
UFC knows Lewis is a huge draw in Houston and they are having a big event there in August. Ngannou wasn't ready in August and wants September, so UFC sets up an interim title fight for the card.

So gross. It's good that the UFC keeps lessening the value of their belts.

Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler
I like that fight for a return fight for Diaz. I think lawler wins, and think even more likely Diaz pulls out.

Can’t think of a better fight that will get buzz and interest and also give us a good idea of where Nick actually is. I think he looked slowed down 7 years ago or whatever year the last fight was.
I’m hoping to be surprised though I guess.

5 rounds is interesting.
I’d love to see fighters have control of that. Kinda like boxing, and how they negotiate everything.
I like the idea of more fighter control and that they should be able to negotiate 3 or 5 rounds.

Looks like jan and glover moved to 267. I’m not sure why. Can’t see anything about injury or anything. Surely the ufc didn’t just move it to spread out the title fights?
