Grabbing the fence screwed him because when he let go he pretty much just artificially fell right into the choke. He'd have been better off fighting it without the fence grab, maybe he scrambles out of it or maybe he creates space somehow in the transition from standing to on the ground.

Either way, what a huge bust for the UFC that branch is. I'm a fan so it sucks.
