Elite XC becomes more and more of a joke by the day. Apparently someone at Elite XC finally realized Brett Rogers was going to kill Kimbo and so they went out and found a senior citizen who hasn't won a fight in a decade. I hope the Kimbo novelty act ends soon so we can go back to watching good fighters.

I fully understand why they are doing it. It's actually a pretty good fight in terms of marketing. Ken Shamrock is still a bigger draw than Rogers or Gannon, yet he's probably the least likely of the 3 to actually beat Kimbo.

But still....LOL

If Shamrock gets Kimbo on the ground it's over in a second. Kimbo is **** besides the power.

This is actually a smart move.
It's still a circus fight, But Shamrock will draw a huge audience, and for the people that actually love Kimbo, Shamrock is name they'll recognize

I agree that it is a smart move on pretty much everyones part.

It should draw a good audience for the show and everyone will make some money. the only loser here is Kimbo's credibility as a serious MMA fighter.

He loses in that respect whatever the result of the fight is (which with the money he is getting he might not care about much anyway), if he wins he has beaten a washed up has been that everyone else has beaten recently and if he loses he has been beaten by a washed up has been that everyone else has beaten lately.

That's the trouble you get when your major star just isn't that good I guess.

He isn't going to lose any respect from anyone with this fight. None of the hardcore respected him in the first place. The mainstream doesn't know that Shamrock has lost like 5 of his last 6 fights.

This is absolutely the best move that EliteXC could have made. Unfortunately for him, this is the last fight until he gets beat (unless they bring in Gannon). They aren't going to be able to hold off a Rogers fight much longer.

I think it's a distinct possibility.

I don't even hate Kimbo. He's just an awful fighter at this point.

That's part of why this is so funny. Ken Shamrock is beyond washed up at this point. He's a complete can. Yet he still has a decent shot at embarrassing EliteXC's poster boy.

If Shamrock beats him, I doubt it will be from a leg lock. Bas will drill Kimbo on that consantly, you'd have to imagine. Plus, Ken hasn't won from a leg lock in literally 12 years. Leg locks suck. To go for them, you generally have to take yourself out of an advantageous position and if you don't get it, you end up on bottom after a scramble.

Because Shamrock is so good that he couldn't lose to Kimbo all on his own?

Shamrock's too prone to flash KO's now. I expect the same for this fight.

In fact I will be downright shocked if it goes to the second round. I'm no Kimbo fan, but as soon as he connects, Ken will be out. Spring up, and act like he did that on purpose.
