What exactly is happening in that image? Is his right foot getting twisted/dislocated? :S

^ totally broken of course

btw, should be mentioned that Razak Al Hassan in his fight looked like he got his arm hyperextended at the elbow during an armbar attempt. Can't find a gif though.

edit: nvm, here it is

Great card, and a really brutal one.

A broken arm, a broken leg, a forehead welt the size of a softball, and highlight KO in the main event. Odd that the most brutal card, maybe ever, was for charity.

That KO was brutal, then he punchs again for good measure.

Yeah some pretty spectacularly ended fights to say the least.

How common are these types of injuries in MMA? I haven't seen anything so bad in the limited fights I've seen...

I see freak injuries in sports all the time like Football especially but damn... 2 in one night

Cantwell after snapping a man's arm. "I'd like to thank God, give him all the glory...watch it pop! That's so sweet, man; I've been waiting so long to do that, you have no idea...[mouthing] I broke it, I broke it!"

WTF???

He said all that, and even made a bunch of snapping motions. Right afterwards...well, after he's done dancing in the guy's direction, he goes up to the camera screams "I broke it" and makes a motion like he's snapping something with his arms. **** up. That's just sadistic.

leg snaps are very rare. I can only think of 4 times in MMA that something like that happened. But arms hyperextending or being broken is commonplace. Probably once a month if you factor in all MMA events worldwide.

what a terrible card. lopsided matchups, excessive violence, horrible reffing and a blood-thirsty crowd boo'ing at every chance. it was free though, so w/e i guess.

Wow. What a lunatic... why is he even in UFC if he's like this? I thought Dana doesn't like sideshows.. despite his MMA ability

Damn... well comes with the territory I guess....

btw how much control would you say a guy has when say doing an armbar, like this match, to break an arm? I mean I'm sure it could be inadvertent, but in the armbar hold do you think he could adjust it so that it doesn't break? If what I'm saying makes any sense...

Its up to the fighter who's got his opponent in the armbar. THis guy, Cantwell sounds like he goes all out in pressure being exerted on the arm while other fighters will give just enough pressure to cause pain and the feeling that your arm is about to be broken. Its usually enough for the loser to tap out.

On the other hand Razak tried everything he could to NOT tap... so I guess Cantwell was justified in trying to do everything he could to put pressure on the armbar.
